@SalterScience @AlanShipnuck Bobby Jones won 13 majors in 7 years then retired. He was an amateur so he was ineligible for the PGA Championship, and the Masters didn’t exist yet. Jack himself said Jones was the GOAT.

These people are morons, a golf tournament goes for 72 holes. Then there's another one. As amazing as Scheffler is, he'll be thirty in six weeks & currently has 20 tour wins and 4 majors. When Tiger turned 30 he had 54 wins and 12 majors. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

There’s a lot of speculation about what might happen with the players if LIV Golf were to fold. Thomas Pieters of 4 Aces GC was asked about it on the latest episode of Dan on Golf: “I’m definitely never going back to the PGA Tour. I’ve never liked that life. And that’s not me having a go at the PGA Tour, it’s not for me. “I tried it and I just wasn’t happy there. If it (LIV) goes away, I’ll probably try and play some on the European Tour or I don’t know. I really don’t know. “I’m not fussed about it at this point because I feel like I still have a duty to focus on these next six, seven tournaments on LIV and then we’ll see. They’re obviously trying to get it together next year. We’ll see.” He was then asked about speculation that players hadn’t been paid ahead of LIV Golf Mexico City: “We got paid. We are getting paid. It was a week late. Some got it early, some got it a week late, but I’m not sure these guys check their bank accounts every two seconds.” Then he was asked what LIV Golf are telling the players about the future: “Not much. I think what ever comes out officially from LIV is what we’re getting half a day before it goes out. Scott is telling us that he’s going to a broader market and trying to fund this for next year. I guess it’s a massive challenge. But we just have to wait and see.” And finally he was asked whether he has loyalty to LIV Golf: “We are just guessing right now. But if we’re playing for 5 million next year or I could play on the DP World Tour for 3 million but be close to home that’s something I’d have to look at it when it comes. Possibly there’s guys going. But I think that’s up to Scott and his team to get this thing together and we’ll just have to find out.” There is a scheduled full player meeting tomorrow in DC, so players should have more clarity on what’s going on. @DanOnGolfShow @Daniel_Rapaport @Thomas_Pieters

We’re filing a motion for a preliminary injunction in an effort to block the Trump Administration from unlawfully greenlighting the restart of two CA onshore oil pipelines that are subject to State regulation and oversight. @KylePorterNS I would agree. In Tigers prime he was playing against guys on the back end of their careers other than a few like Phil, Ernie, Duval, and Furyk.

the comments are what I thought they would be. But that doesn't make the statement untrue. Golf has gotten more competitive since Tiger's prime, not less. Which means there are more good to great players, not fewer.
Because you cannot control what your opponent does in golf like you can in, say, tennis, it is generally more difficult to win if the overall baseline of good to great players is higher (and rising).
You don't have to like it, but this is not really a controversial statement.

"There’s no one that was going to give me a penalty there but myself."
Cameron Young was asked about calling a penalty on himself during the final round today. This was his response:
“Your heart sinks when you see it move, but it moved and that’s part of what golf’s about. I mean, there’s no one that was going to give me a penalty there but myself. I think I have had about four of those on the PGA Tour now so I need to start setting the club down a little softer. It’s just one of those times, I wasn’t going to look the other way and say it didn’t move when it rolled over an inch forward. Just unfortunate, but handled it really well.”

Alex Fitzpatrick finished T9 at the Cadillac and earned $505,000, which is more than the Turkish Airlines Open winner's check of $468,509.
