@chessandpoker Agreed. I view it the same way I view movies, books, music, etc. If I don’t disagree with the message, then I generally don’t care who wrote it, performs it, etc.
Most boardgames are even easier, since the majority of the ones I play aren’t really pushing any message.

But I usually wish I knew LESS 😑
I want to experience games without being influenced by "external considerations" but with social media, it's hard.
For now, I still view boardgames as neutral works of art and accept that people I disagree with can still make great games.

How many ways can a boardgame end?? 🤔
1) Automatic/Organic - Something you do in the game also ends it by force (cards in deck run out etc)
2) Rounds/Timer - Play X rounds then the game ends
3) Uncontrolled - Just keep playing until someone eventually wins..
Anything else??

@chessandpoker This is an interesting perspective!
I've long described this difference as "complexity" vs "complication", or as "depth" vs "breadth". Thinking about it as "mind" vs "eyes" is interesting.

Where Does the Complexity Reside? 🤔
I think with boardgames it's experienced in 2 primary ways:
1) In our thoughts.. 🧠
2) Through the eyes 👀
A game like Chess is played mostly in the MIND. With modern boardgames, we LOOK at the complexity and MANAGE it, much more shallowly.

Book A is a MASSIVE and engaging literary masterpiece. Unfathomable number of pages. Very satisfying. But will you ever read it again?? Doubtful.. 😭 Book B is a beloved short story you've read 20 times. <100 pages. Comforting. You'll read it again soon 🥰 Yada Yada #Boardgames
