The Little Terns at Beacon Ponds have made a remarkable recovery, but they still need help. Your donation can fund a warden, ensuring these birds are protected when breeding. Please share this message and consider donating to support this vital project. gofund.me/166f8217c

(1/) Now is a great time to think about signing up to survey a BBS square ready for when the survey season begins in April. Here is just one example of a vacant square that we are looking for a volunteer to survey! @_BTO @JNCC_UK @RSPBScience

Really enjoyable second visit for the Winter Bird Survey on my @BBS_birds square in Thetford Forest. First transect was packed with Blackbirds, Redwings and many Crossbills over. Second transect through the coniferous forest was much quieter, mainly Coal Tits!

Latest BirdTrack data show Woodcock arriving en masse over the the last fortnight. Sadly, Woodcock are prone to colliding with buildings while they migrate. If you find a dead Woodcock in these circumstances, please add the record to BirdTrack or email details to woodcock@bto.org

@davidwheldrake Some United fans always boo former players. Lundstram threw his toys out of the pram when we signed Berge, who was better than him. Even Berge got booed when he came back with Burnley. There's no pleasing some people!

@bbctms Moths are extremely important as pollinators and their caterpillars are any essential food source for many birds such as Blue and Great Tits. I promise you, the world would be worse off without them. And just to add, there are day-flying as well as nocturnal moths.
