Wow. Autodesk cutting out 3rd party resellers effective June 10. If I am reading this correctly they are cutting out the middleman entirely.

@peterdeko At a high level, all construction is p3: designers and constructors have been private partners forever. P3 is a broooaaad label - the big question to ask is “was the contract structured for the owner to abdicate responsibility?”

@kettlecorn Your dependency tree approach feels right. With high frequency inputs, you could add filters to drop inputs at certain points along the tree. Loss of fidelity but less re-simulation.

A deterministic program can be networked by syncing user inputs and "rolling back" / resimulating if a 'past' input occurs. But if inputs are continuous clients will always be rolling back. With 8 frames delay that's 8x the cost. Is there a way to make resimulation granular?

As an architect, I get to hear multiple contractor pitches and see multiple bids. Especially in custom residential, it can really feel like the wild west. So... The good, the bad, and the ugly:
