Will Campbell Confirmed MCL injury on 11/23/25 that was likely a partial tear as opposed to a mild sprain today in article by @ByMarkDaniels This is the main stabilizer for the medial/inner aspect of the knee (see pictures from previous tweet). Since it was to his right knee and he is a left tackle, all of the force that the opposing defender is going to stress his right knee. With a previous unhealed injury to the MCL, he would’ve had significant issues trying to stabilize with that right knee/leg and as a result, he wouldn’t have had the leverage to be able to hold off the opposing defenders very well. He knew this, the Patriots medical staff knew this, the opposing defense is knew this and the results were obvious. Unfortunately, given the state of the offensive line options for the Patriots, even an injured Campbell was a better option in their opinion than the other healthier options. Not an excuse, just clarity and confirmation.
