On the upcoming @JupiterExchange LFG vote We are launching a token. You can read about why here: jupresear.ch/t/sanctum-lfg-… What we haven't yet done is given a specific breakdown of our tokenomics. Some people have asked us to pull out and come back when we have them finalised. I understand this concern. It's important for voters to be well-informed going into the voting process, and there is dissatisfaction with some projects' tokenomics. Some people are worried the same will happen with @sanctumso. But let me offer another way: Instead of announcing a static tokenomics at this time, we will consult closely with both the Jupiter and Sanctum communities to build our tokenomics together. Why? Rather than thinking that we have all the answers, we want to design the ideal tokenomics together with the community. The vote will give us the mandate to kickstart this process with JUP holders. Most importantly, I would like to set a new standard for the LFG process, where instead of dictating to the community in a ‘take it or leave it’ manner, we make the process more open and collaborative. LFG is not just a launchpad, it is a process. It is an opportunity for founders to share their vision with 250,000 JUP DAO members. The true potential of LFG lies in channelling the attention and wisdom of 250,000 people into improving our product, roadmap, and tokenomics: to use LFG as a nursery to grow fledging projects into the next Jupiter. That value trumps anything a CEX could offer. That's how we're going to bring the decentralised meta forward. It would be a big shame if LFG just became a rubber stamp, for voters to earn some tokens and nothing more. Remember why we're really here. Jup LFG is here to build the decentralised meta, to say a big "fuck you" to gatekeeper middlemen. Working with the community After the vote, we will begin community consultation. We are learning a lot from Jupiter's planetary calls: we plan to do the same. We will hold regular calls to gather feedback, share our thoughts, and work through tokenomics together. And of course async discussion and feedback will be held 24/7 in our Discord (discord.gg/sanctumso) and Telegram (t.me/sanctumso). We hope to finalise tokenomics by the end of May. Periodically, I will compile our thoughts and learnings into a document and share it with all of you to get community contributions, just like Meow did in the community airdrop consultation: x.com/weremeow/statu…. I can't promise that I can make everybody happy, but I can guarantee that Sanctum will be open and honest, and I hope that you will join us in building our tokenomics together. Q: Can we trust you? What happens if you launch something predatory? For starters, all team and investor tokens will be on multi-year vesting schedules. Vesting aside, we have been building liquid staking on Solana for more than three years; we contributed to the open-source SPL stake pool program that now secures >1B in stake. We have continued to build throughout the bear. Our actions speak for themselves. Q: When do you intend to launch the token? We have been building this for more than three years. Believe me, we can't wait. But we have very high standards for ourselves. Between token and no product, and product and no token, we will choose product every time. I want our token, our product, and our legacy to thrive for decades. We have told the CWG about when we plan to launch the token and we will try our utmost to stick to it. But these things take time. One thing is for sure: I would rather do it together with you guys, and do it right, rather than rush to hit a deadline. Finally, I want to give a big thank you to Nancyy and Mike AF on the Discord for being very active and vocal with their feedback. I have taken several of their criticisms to heart and will use it to improve. ☁️
