Namaste, Ma'am...Aapko 1 story sunata hoon.... In the summer of 1980, a distraught 7th grade boy stood in the courtyard of a modest house in Mylapore, watching his father toss his cricket bat down a deep well. A fast bouncer had shattered the boy's spectacles during a local match & his father, a renowned Sanskrit logician, was terrified for his son's sight. "Your cricket days are done," his father declared, handing him a violin. "If you want to master precision, master this." The boy did not throw a tantrum. He directed his focus toward the strings, training until he was performing alongside musical legends, even taking direct corrections from Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi. 5 yrs later, he suffered another blow: he failed to clear the IIT-JEE examination. He did not give up. He enrolled in a regional engineering college, quietly mastering computer science logic gates. He eventually worked his way into IIT Madras as a postgrad researcher, earned a PhD, joined as a prof & eventually became the Director of the very institute that had once turned him away. By 2011, while the world was building consumer mobile apps, this prof was looking at a hidden national vulnerability: every radar, fighter jet, banking server & defense system in India was running on foreign-designed microprocessors. He had a single question in his mind: "We can test that a foreign chip does what we WANT it to do. But can we guarantee it does not do something we DO NOT want it to do when a war starts?" He proposed building a completely indigenous, industrial-grade microprocessor from scratch. Global tech giants insisted it could not be done w/o billions of dollars in infrastructure & massive foreign patents. He did not care. Working out of cramped labs on long shifts, he & his team adopted the open source RISC-V instruction set. They hand-coded logic gates, mapped silicon layouts & verified billions of instruction cycles. In July 2018, a tiny 16mm² piece of silicon codenamed Risecreek arrived back at the lab. The team wired it up, flipped the switch & watched a flickering monitor as the Linux operating system booted on 100% Indian-designed silicon for the 1st time in history. Today, his SHAKTI processor architecture powers everything from defense communications to space grade controllers built in collaboration with ISRO. That young boy whose father threw his cricket bat down a well... The student who missed the JEE list in 1985... The violinist who turned down the official IIT Director's mansion to stay in his family home & protect his late father's Sanskrit library... His name is Prof. Veezhinathan Kamakoti.

I googled this because nothing in this universe can break "Law of conservation of energy". We actually need more energy to pump the water back. Net net, the total output of this power plant is less than normal hydropower plants. Only reason it is done is night power is cheaper

@sambitnk And another imp aspect is that PSP or BESS creates addl generating cap, which can meet the peak demand without incurring extra cost in procuring costly power at peak hours.

@sambitnk Firstly, thermal generation isn't predictable since weather dependent. It peak window span is very little, say 11:30 - 13:30 Hrs. Secondly, both technical & comml point of view, thermal plants don't have such operational flexibility.

Spend time in small towns, villages and the not so affluent urban centres and you see the youth being mostly jobless and behaving like rowdies. No work ethic, ambition or sincerity. Just an endless search for shortcuts to success.

The Lost Generation – Gen Z The recent drama in Delhi has done more than create headlines. It has held up a mirror to India and the world, revealing the true face of the country’s modern generation. What we saw was not youthful idealism or healthy dissent. It was a display of complete indiscipline, extreme rudeness, low-level language, and open uncivilized behaviour. Looking at them, one unavoidable conclusion stares back: India’s education system has failed, and far more than that, India’s parents have failed. They raised these children, then released them into society without the basic grounding of manners, restraint, or respect. If this is the generation that will inherit the nation, then India’s future stands in complete darkness. A major reason for this decay is the artificial branding of the generation itself. “Gen Z” is an useless, imported label that has been casually slapped onto today’s youth. Many of them now treat membership in this club as a licence: speak crudely, behave arrogantly, create chaos, and say anything to anyone without hesitation. In many cases the girls appear even more aggressive than the boys, drinking, smoking, and injecting obscenity into ordinary conversation as if these are markers of liberation. This did not happen overnight. For years MTV and other modern channels worked hard to redefine what it means to be young, cool, and free. Their influence is now painfully visible on the streets. Political parties, eyeing these young people as future voters, are only too ready to tolerate their irrelevant demands and street violence. Under that protective cover, leftist groups, anti-national elements, and certain NGOs find it easy to push their own agendas. Yet the problem runs deeper than politics or media. Much of India’s middle class became financially better off before it developed the civic sense, discipline, and values needed to sustain a healthy society. In the rush to imitate the West, we copied the lifestyle without understanding its long-term consequences. Parenting was outsourced. The kitchen was outsourced. The joint family was outsourced. Then we act surprised when so many young people struggle with resilience, responsibility, and emotional maturity and treat foul, abusive language as a badge of being modern. A generation raised on convenience but starved of accountability grows highly entitled while remaining poorly prepared for the hard edges of real life. Education can hand out degrees and impressive job titles. It cannot automatically supply values, discipline, civic sense, or the ability to disagree with basic respect. Scroll through the comments on social media and you will find people with prestigious degrees and white-collar careers who still lack ordinary common sense and logical reasoning. In my view, a large majority of this generation appears hopeless, marked by low seriousness and even lower capacity for reflection, while many of their parents themselves seem short of common sense. You may not agree with that assessment, and that is fine. I do not claim to have an answer for everyone. But the uncomfortable truth remains. The solution is not to reject modernity. It is to rebuild strong families, restore clear values, and raise children who understand that freedom without responsibility is merely licence. Parents still have time to step forward and course-correct. If they do not, society will not be the first casualty. Their own families will.
