I’ve noticed most people who despise the TADC finale hate it because it depicts real people with complex emotions and instead of peddling a slop ending where everyone holds hands and everything is tied up in a neat little bow. God forbid something actually challenges you

Unlike TADC in Bojack Horseman not only is there focus on the other characters but the show actually explores their complicated feelings abt the world around them including Bojack himself, in fact they’re even allowed to dislike him and want nothing to do with him -

@snickerolli am i like an anomaly? i fucking love Bojack and Breaking Bad, but Jax pisses me off to no end. narratively Jax does not work the same way that morally terrible characters like Bojack or WW work, but i get shut down every time i try to explain why.

@webw3aver @pk_kenzie Erm, Marie has like two different arcs in the show. (Kleptomania because Hank and her are having issues, and then helping Hank [kinda] with the WW case)

@pk_kenzie tadc fans would go into breaking bad, get confused why the show is having us follow a drug dealer instead of someone more morally righteous, and then complain that marie schrader didn't get more screen time and an actual arc

Finally figured out what bothered me with Jax's writing in comparison to like Bojack, the narrative does not allow anyone to be (reasonably) upset at Jax and her actions towards the other members of the circus and if they are they get immediately condemned for it
