Calling a swimming burka “unhygienic” is just another way of implying that Muslims are dirty.
I wear a long-sleeved swim top & shorts in the pool, as I had skin cancer.
There’s nothing inherently unhygienic about covering more of your body in a swimming pool.

Swimming (in children's pool) today, 3 Muslim women wearing swimming Burqas, 2 Muslim men wearing black t-shirts and shorts. I am truly not making any religious judgement here but pools used to have a rule: wear swimsuit/speedos or no entry. What happened to basic hygiene rules?

@JennyAThatcher @DrRebeccaTidy @EJWoolf Plenty of Muslim women choose burkinis, same as plenty of women choose modest swimwear for sun protection, skin conditions, or personal comfort — not because a man told them to. Equating a design choice with oppression because you wouldn't choose it isn't the own you think it is

Please just let women exercise and enjoy themselves in whatever outfit they like.
