The elections for the positions of Chair and Vice Chair of the WCO Counterfeiting and Piracy (CAP) Working Group were held on 23 October 2025 at the WCO Headquarters, Brussels. Ms. Prajwala M N, Additional Director, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), has been elected as the Chair of the WCO CAP Working Group. Her nomination was proposed by Japan and supported by Mali, Guatemala, Libya, Benin, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Norway, Guinea, Kosovo, Brazil, the European Union, and the Central African Republic. This achievement highlights India’s growing leadership and active role in global efforts to combat counterfeiting and piracy under the aegis of the WCO. 🇮🇳

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has dismantled a large-scale narcotics manufacturing & distribution network in Delhi NCR in a well coordinated operation from October 21 to October 23, 2025. Seizures include: ➡️ 16.27 kg amphetamine ➡️ 7.9 kg cocaine ➡️ 1.8 kg heroin ➡️ 2.13 kg ganja ➡️ 115.42 kg precursor chemicals Estimated illicit market value: ₹108.81 crores 👉 26 foreign nationals arrested. This complex operation, executed across multiple jurisdictions and under challenging field conditions, exemplifies DRI’s commitment to intelligence-led enforcement, inter-agency coordination, and the unwavering resolve to combat the threat of narcotics smuggling and synthetic drug manufacture.
