despite agreeing with you on these, i still believe that the testing method doesn't check real performance. performance of an EL to me includes the e2e from payload building, validation, execution, responding to CL requests, and p2p duties. your benchmark measures only one slice of that about reth's improvement as a response, your point holds about this itself being the point of the benchmarks, and ofc i have infinite respect to what you guys do at nethermind not just for your own client but testing/research on/with others

Deb, with all my respect, approach where you take assumptions running a node only on comfortable sitatuions (like gnosis or mainnet load and slot time) will never tell you anything about your client. This test is "Stress test" as big letters on image state. Reth had issue, we mentioned that on presentations and in blogpost. We contacted Reth team long time ago, since then we faced other issue which was solved recently with some magic flag. Degradation seems now to be also fixed and numbers are better (contending for second place with Besu). Reth is faster for sure but at the time of test execution, this one exposed an vulnerability (which is WHY WE TEST). Also statement that geth is 10x slower is completly messed up :D I know reth is faster, but you really underestimate geth. Give me dashboard and comparision of same blocks and I will trust then - data driven approach. Leave the bubble. Nethermind is fastest execution client, period.

Georgios closed the PR. They are deliberately claiming to be the fastest Ethereum execution client, despite the evidence showing otherwise. This is not engineering. It is a marketing narrative, the kind typically pushed by VC playbooks rather than supported by measurements or technical rigor.

I submitted a PR to @tempo to correct an inaccurate technical statement in their description. It currently asserts that Reth is the fastest execution client, a claim that is not supported by available benchmark data. We have already published measurements that contradict this assertion. Based on the most recent and publicly available benchmarks, Nethermind (@Nethermind) currently demonstrates the highest execution throughput. Their methodology and results were published earlier today. We expect to publish quantitative performance results for @ethrex_client in the coming weeks. Also from an engineering perspective, I strongly recommend that Tempo and @stripe operate multiple execution and consensus clients. Client diversity improves fault tolerance.

with default settings, neth/geth sync faster due to snap sync, which reth doesnt have yet, accepted. also admittedly nethermind's "vm" is faster than reth imo (from my experiments at least). but reth is clearly superior to most other clients and by far from geth/besu and to repeat, if you read their benchmark methodology you'll see it is flawed beyond accuracy

@debjitbw run mainnet with reth, geth and nethermind and the performance difference is very relevant between reth and nethermind.

Are you unironically trying to tell me that Lido, Coinbase, etc. have no direct line of comms with EF and the client teams?

🚨 Google Wallet recently integrated ZKPs for private age verification. Many of the use-cases that have been written about for years (self-sovereign identity, private digital credentials) are finally being deployed to consumers. 2025 is the year ZK goes mainstream.

@gnosischain We made it! @gnosischain is now the first mainnet on Pectra 🥳 Participation dropped a bit (to ~88%), but all client pairs, including our new releases of @paradigm's Reth and @ethereum's Geth made it through unharmed! Now to run a full test suite for the new features.
