@vini546 Restore benefit shouldn't be added as total sum insured. It's a added benefit usefull multiple claims during a year but a single max claim is upto 30l only including bonus and plus benifit

@debunapanda Need to check on this scenario. As per my discussion with support team it’s 40L including automatic restore and the restore of base sum amount (in my case it’s 10L) can be used for same claim. So in a way it’s 40L. But let me double check on this. Thanks again !!

As my Health & Term insurance policies renewal is nearing, let me provide the details so that it might helpful to someone. Health Insurance Policy Details : Policy Name : HDFC Ergo Optima Secure Policy Type : Family Floater Bought the policy in April 2023 and paid the amount for 3 years (valid till April 2026) to avoid premium hike. Sum Insured : 10L Premium paid : 52,955/- (got 5% discount as I purchased directly from HDFC Ergo portal. Thought of buying through Policy Bazaar but HDFC Ergo Optima secure is not listed in their portal at that time. Didn’t tried Ditto) Any additional Addons or Riders : NO Let’s deep dive into Policy benefits / features : ~ Secure Benefit : Equal to 100% base sum insured (which is 10L in my case) ~ Plus Benefit : Bonus of 50% base sum max upto 100% on renewal (in my case it’s 50% for 2nd year renewal + 50% for 3rd year renewal) -> Total 10L ~ Protect Benefit : Restore upto sum insured (Same or different illness / same or different person) So the total policy value will be 40L if you consider all the above benefits. I’m also sharing all other benefits / features of this policy for better understanding. FYI - Recently I’ve added my baby boy into existing policy which is kind of endorsement to existing policy. Individual Health insurance is must though you have corporate health insurance. Do your analysis based on the criteria and your medical history. You can go through Policy Bazar, Ditto, Beshak websites to compare different insurance policies and their features. PS : I’m planning to opt for an advisor / agent next time prior to my policy renewal for better claim settlement process. @vini546 See restore is a different thing if you get a single claim of 35l then only 30l will be covered and you will need pay 5l from hand.. If you get one claim of 25l And after 2 months another claim of suppose 10l Then the 25l+10l will be settled by insurance..
