@ContrarianSaver @rohindhar Many of the low-end vacation rentals in Joshua Tree/Yucca/29 have reverted to monthly rentals. There are some decent little houses in the $1,500-$2K range. It’s enough for owners to cover mortgage & costs and there’s more housing for locals, who got squeezed in the Airbnb boom.

The Airbnb bust has, technically, hit the desert — room rates are way down. Room availability way up. But where are the bargains? Number of short sales: Palm Springs: 12 (of nearly 1000 listings) Joshua Tree: 5 Yucca Valley: 1 @rohindhar what gives?
