@hassanlaasri @erictronai @tokumin @emollick Makes sense, especially if you already had iA Writer muscle memory. That said, I’m curious — if Deckset were to feel more business-first, what would that look like for you?

@decksetapp @erictronai @tokumin @emollick I tested Deckset but chose iA Presenter for a simple reason: Deckset seemed more suited for academics, while I'm in business. I also had prior experience with iA Writer. It wasn't a carefully calculated decision, but a quick one to move on. I may reconsider it in the future.

While I wasn't looking, slide generation in Google's NotebookLM became impressive Here I threw in 10 academic papers I authored & it summarized them into a coherent (& quite pretty) deck. I saw no hallucinations, but nano banana results in some occasional spelling & graph issues

@hassanlaasri @erictronai @tokumin @emollick Totally get the appeal of separating layout from image generation. If you tried this in Deckset, what would block you or slow you down compared to iA Presenter?

@erictronai @tokumin @emollick For slides, I’ve settled on a practical stopgap: use your LLM to generate the final layout and content in Markdown, insert image prompts as placeholders, then paste everything into iA Presenter and generate the images afterward. Manual, but professional and beautiful 👌

Request for product: I have a text file. I can use markdown to show you the title, content etc. Each slide is demarcated by a "---". Would love to just dump that in a field, choose a template, and have Figma come up with slides. One of these AI slide things can do it but that's enough subscriptions for me.

so I've gone through Pitch, Google Slides, Figma Slides, and as far as I can tell... not a single one can take a document and convert it to slides

This week I learned about Marp that allows you to convert markdown to presentations (pdf/ppt). Very handy in LLM era. Other good alternatives to this? marp.app
