True for contracts that are “ON THE BOOKS” but , and you definitely didn’t hear this from me, during my playing days, there were receivers (whose names will remain protected for legal reasons) 😂) who were making more once you added in the “OFF THE BOOKS” income too.😉
Dave Naylor@TSNDaveNaylor

The @Ticats have signed WR Kenny Lawler to a new 3-year $1 million contract … making it the biggest receiver deal in CFL history, aside from the 1991 Rocket Ismail @argos contract for personal services. The 31-year-old Lawler led the @CFL with 16.8 yards per catch last season and was second in total yardage with 1,443. #CFL

One of the tragic things about Revenge of the Sith is that they cut out half of the entire reason Anakin turned to the dark side. He turns on the jedi because he wants to save Padme, but in that moment he is still doing what he believes is necessary to save his wife from certain death. What actually seals his fate and *causes him to turn away from everyone, even those he loves* is seeing Obi-wan arrive on the ship with Padme, because to him, it confirms that they are having an affair. But why? Is that really all it took to get him to doubt his wife loves him? Showing up on a ship together? No, the reason he calls her a liar and shouts "YOU'RE WITH HIM!" before nearly killing her is that there's an entire subplot of the film that was cut. In this subplot, Padme is secretly setting up the beginnings of the rebel alliance. She has figured out that Palpatine is an evil dictator and wants to remove him from office. She doesn't tell Anakin about this, aside from vaguely hinting at it when she says "have you ever considered that we may be on the wrong side". Palpatine figures out what Padme is up to, but instead of directly cracking down on the rebels, he uses the fact that Padme is keeping a secret from Anakin to drive a wedge between them. Anakin knows *something* is up with her, but not exactly what. Palpatine exploits this by implying on multiple occasions that Padme is having an affair with Obi-wan. He tells Anakin that this is why he was kept off of the council. From Anakin's POV, Obi-wan is keeping him down, stealing his girl, preventing his ascent to Master (and from accessing secret info that only masters are allowed to read), and even stealing his valor by taking on General Grievous alone despite being the less powerful jedi. And the Jedi Order is enabling him to do so. So, when Obi-wan shows up on Mustafar with Padme, Anakin "realizes" that he has betrayed and killed children to protect someone who didn't even love him. He's lost everything and been played a fool. Palpatine seemed to be the only person in the universe who wasn't lying to him and trying to keep him down. Or so he thought.
Drunk Superman@DrunkSuperman3

Revenge of the Sith is not better than Return of the Jedi. Revenge of the Sith barely makes any fucking sense. The Dude has one fucking nightmare, flips out. Believe the first fucking person that says he can save his wife. Dosn't do any research. Goes on a killing Spree. And then when his wife dies anyways and emperor clearly lied to him. He like "Sure ill be your bitch". Vader Redemption makes much more sense than that.

D-line: Evans, Weaver, and Pate all noticeable, which is great news for the group. This team rotates a lot of D-linemen during a game so wonder if at least two of them are on the active roster. #Riders #CFL

Watched the Riders' preseason game in Saskatoon this morning/afternoon. Some thoughts on what I saw. Starting O: Solid from the jump. Harris could be even better this season. Not surprising given how things have looked in camp. #Riders #CFL

@BrittonGray When your starting QB is 40, 4 QBs is a good decision anyways. 2 kept around to learn from a very smart qb with great habits, 2 chances at a successor for 2027 or 2028

QBs: Coan did eventually settle in and had a few decent drives. A couple really nice passes. Schager once again popped more, including a great game-winning drive. Riders kept 4 QBs on the main roster in 2025. Schager has probably forced them to do it again. #Riders #CFL

@ravira @RoarReport I’m guessing each of them saw the writing on the way in camp… maybe it wasn’t a true “competition”?? Everyone knows Elgarsma will be sticking around… so only 1 spot and a PR spot

@decorbs @VINTAGESASKO @ric_bye This was the main thing that so many CFL fans who were bitching about the clock change didn't understand. The CFL didn't have a 20 second clock for YEARS. It was abused.

Its only been 1.5 games AND it is preaeason but the 35 second play clock may have been the best thing rule change the CFL has done in a long time. Thought itd be good but itnhas exceeded my expectations. Wonder if 30secs be better? Good start!

@ric_bye @VINTAGESASKO My preference is each team have 2 timeouts per half and keep the timing the same throughout the game. TOs can be used strategically, for timing purposes or because you need to use it to get out of a bad play call…. Plus challenges. currently coaches just hold them for challenge

@VINTAGESASKO @decorbs Im ok with it but im open to options going forward. Keeping both time outs after the 3 min warning maybe? Let's see how the season plays out.

@VINTAGESASKO @ric_bye WPG was the worst at abusing the playclock rule but they’d all do it… substitute late, ref holds up the playclock but clock still runs… they’d burn 50 secs a play (outside the 3 mins). Anything to speed it up. Really like this rule change

@ric_bye @VINTAGESASKO It’s basically just forcing the players/coaches/ refs to stay on schedule. There is no clock manipulation…. The change was needed because of the way teams were using the rules. So, yes the 35 sec clock is great! It’s accomplishing the goal of reverting to original intent

@RougeDalts @RoughriderFan13 @RiderGirl4Life I think he looked okay. He went through his reads quick and got rid of the ball. Didnt look like the game was too much for him. Which happens sometimes for young QBs. He thinks the game well … without reps (which limited come in practice in season) makes it tough

@RoughriderFan13 @RiderGirl4Life It takes American QBs generally 3 years to acclimated to the Canadian game... Considering this would be 3rd year... He's had very limited action... It would be really premature to write him off. Having said that... I didn't see much today that says future.

@RoughriderFan13 @RiderGirl4Life Ppl maybe won’t see Coans game with results of points; but to be honest I feel the game slowed down for him. He made quick decisions and got the ball out. He was still playing with all backups vs CGY starters. schager looked good again guys that will be cut #Riders

@RiderGirl4Life I'm not ready to call Coan a bust just yet. If indeed he is the #2 this season it will do him good. Being #4 for a couple seasons doesn't really give much development opportunities in practice.

@BrittonGray @mlakustiak14 Cfl teams should just update the timeout structure. Give them 2 per half. Voila, it’s done. Then keep the 35 sec play clock throughout

@mlakustiak14 Let teams keep two timeouts in the final 3 minutes. Keep the 35-second play clock, but only run the game clock for the final 20 seconds. There are solutions!

Maybe it's because it was preseason, but those final 3 minutes really dragged on and slowed everything down after most of the game was played with the 35-second play clock. #Riders #CFL

As you watch Aaron Rai in the PGA Championship, you might notice he uses iron covers for his clubs and wears two gloves — two habits often viewed as golf faux pas. But both are actually inspiring. Rai grew up in a working-class family in England, where his father sacrificed heavily to support his golf career. When Aaron got an expensive set of irons as a kid, his dad would clean every groove with a pin and baby oil after practice because the clubs meant that much to them. The iron covers became a reminder to appreciate what you have. And the two gloves? Rai started wearing them as a kid during cold-weather golf in England and eventually became so comfortable with the feel that he never stopped. Not gimmicks. Just gratitude… and comfort.
