Men believed to work for Wike’s FCT captured harassing News Central’s journalists for filming the damaged Kugbo Bus Station in Abuja.
Are these guys even aware that the Bus Station is a public property and any Nigerian, let alone the media, has the right to film it?✍️
@renoomokri Since we can not compare minimum wage, can we talk about what is possible? Have you advised your new lord and master that he should reintroduce subsidy with Dangote? Considering the fact that the previous subsidy arrangement was a scam!
Dear Citizens of Nigeria,
On this issue of fuel prices, it is mental laziness to compare the minimum wage in America to that of Nigeria. A country's minimum wage has absolutely no bearing on petrol prices. It is like expecting Apple to sell iPhones cheaper in Nigeria because the minimum wage is lower there than in America.
That is not how economics works. Economics does not concern itself with your emotions. The cost price of petrol is governed by how much it takes to refine crude oil, not by how much a nation's minimum wage is.
Please fact-check me: Sudan is an oil-producing country, like Nigeria, and Nigeria has a significantly higher minimum wage than Sudan. Yet, petrol sells for about the same amount in Nigeria as in Sudan.
Fuel is what is known as a fungible commodity in economics. This means that, aside from shipping and transportation costs and government taxes, the price of the product is generally the same anywhere on Earth, regardless of minimum wage, with only one provision, which I explain in the next paragraph.
The only way to reduce the price of petrol and make it lower than the cost price is by subsidising it. Other than that, it is not possible!
But of course, it is easier to get emotional and insult than to engage in critical thinking.
I was told that this guy who moves with and hypes Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, is really paid to do the work.
I mean, a so-called Governor employed a hype-man to move around with him yelling his praises and constituting a nuisance!
How much more terrible can it get!✍️
