Port iko Mombasa. Kila siku meli zaingia zikitoka. I’ve counted up to 12 ships in the horizon on a given night. Where is this wealth going and why does Mombasa not see much benefit from it? Who is benefitting from our port if not the locals?

@ProLearner77 @ufntc I agree but a popular initiative gives the people a chance to decide their destiny. Thereafter any interference by the political elite is just but a temporary hurdle. No referendum leaves room to manipulate the masses that the decision was never in their interest

@ProLearner77 @ufntc I meant back then. A popular referendum gives legitimacy beyond reasonable doubt and sets the stage for sober discussions to iron out issues

@ProLearner77 @ufntc MRC, IPK were pushed by decades of marginalization & discrimination. Prior to independence the coastal region wanted to be part of the Zanzibar sultanate hence the newly formed Kenyan state "punished" them. In retrospect, Zanz/Tanganyika should've held a referendum for the union

This is a normal taxi rank outside Peak Hour, a Saturday or a Sunday. This video is exactly like people who capture other visuals in hospital when it’s empty, or empty cleaned streets as if a Taxi Rank, or a Hospital or a street celebrating not seeing foreigners as of those places always full of foreigners at any given time. Why do people fall for clear misinformation; in which South Africa will taxis have no business when most South Africans rely on them ?
𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐲𝐆𝐑𝐍@AsakyGRN

A South African taxi operator expressed frustration over the sharp decline in customers, claiming business has slowed significantly since the immigration crackdown drove many African immigrants out of the country. Foreigners reportedly made up a large share of daily commuters and consumers.

AFTER READING ALL YOUR COMMENTS ON THE PREVIOUS POST, ALLOW ME TO RESPOND TO YOU ALL AT ONCE. Thank you, residents of Kampala and beyond, for your voices, ideas, proposals, and words of encouragement. Your feedback continues to guide us as we work together to build a vibrant, attractive, livable, and sustainable city. To improve road safety and accessibility, @KCCAUG is repairing potholes, fixing open manholes, and improving drainage systems. We also call upon everyone to support the fight against the theft of manhole covers as we explore alternatives such as composite covers that have no recycling value. We are expanding street lighting projects to brighten dark roads and junctions. All new roads and roads undergoing rehabilitation are being equipped with solar and other sustainable lighting solutions. We are also maintaining and improving Kampala’s green spaces, including Constitutional Square, Independence Monument Park along Speke Road, Muteesa II Mini Park on Nile Avenue, UAP Green Park in Nakawa, Jubilee Gardens at Sheraton Hotel, Kamwokya Children’s Park, and Chwa II Children’s Park. I encourage you to visit and enjoy these beautiful spaces. As our budget allocations improve, we will explore more cost-effective ways of maintaining our growing floral beauty, including sprinkler systems. In the meantime, we continue using available resources responsibly. The safety of workers remains a priority. Wearing reflector jackets is mandatory and will be enforced for both KCCA and private workers. We remain committed to improving air quality in the city. Kampala’s current average air quality reading is within the acceptable range set by @nemaug, although we continue working towards meeting @WHO recommended standards. On fire hydrants, we continue working with our sister agency, @PoliceUg, which is responsible for fire management, and we will share this proposal with them. For our youth, the Employment Service Bureau at Sezibwa Road, next to Kampala Club, and the KCCA Skilling Centre in Kabalagala continue to provide life skills training, apprenticeship opportunities, and pathways to employment. We value your feedback and guidance offered. It enables us to serve you better. Together, we will continue building a Kampala we are proud of.

This is literally Zanzibar😭 Most places are so far from each other 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hrs and that’s without traffic. Half of the trip is spent on the road😩 some part of the road were even scary just bushes everywhere I was so scared
Beth♥️@queenbeth____

Zanzibar isn’t all that to be honest, apart from the beautiful beaches and clear water, there’s really not much else that impressed me. I honestly regret choosing it as the second country on my trip. I Will rate it 2/10

@AusbelMumbere @TheMutaD @Mbwesaa Yeap. One thing with Uganda, at least their projects are relatively well executed e.g. drainage works, signage, better designs for safety and flow of traffic etc. They are not time barred compared to Kenya's which have a tight political calendar but the results are better

My last visit to Ke, these past few weeks I was more relaxed. There's no doubt that with the kind of infra interventions they can make it. I don't think it will mostly be with the aesthetics that please @Mbwesaa (only a few arras are choosy about that in Nairobi).
Ugin@uginm102

Kenya is the head of the region. If they finish the trains and roads being set up, continue with ports and a few airports. I see Kenyan GDP double every few years till they hit $500 billions very soon.

Tanzanian undocumented migrants in South Africa attempted to join a group of Malawians gathered in Sherwood. However, they were turned away by the Malawians, who advised them to find their own gathering place. The Malawians explained that the Sherwood gathering was their own initiative, and they did not want non-Malawians competing for the resources provided by local sympathisers/Samaritans and other organisations
