🚨NEW: Texas mother who was arrested for posting photos of her city’s “unsafe” brown drinking water is suing police for violating her First Amendment rights
Independent journalist Jennifer Combs has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Trinidad, Texas, its police chief, an officer and a city councilwoman...
...after she was arrested over Facebook posts showing discolored water inside the city
Combs had posted photos of brown-looking water in a bathtub and asked residents to contact her if they experienced water quality issues or illnesses they believed were connected
Days later, Trinidad police responded online saying they had not received any confirmed reports of illnesses tied to the water system and reminded residents that filing a false report is illegal
About two weeks after Combs’ post, the city issued a boil water advisory
Weeks later, Combs was arrested on a charge of sending a false alarm
A grand jury later declined to indict her, and she is now suing the city and police, accusing them of targeting her to cover up the town’s water problems

Alex Bores, a Democratic assemblyman in New York, announced plans for a bill called the Anti-Insurrectionist Act, which would tax any New Yorker who receives compensation from Trump's slush fund.
"It's simple, if you're a New Yorker and you take from this illegal slush fund, New York state will tax 100% of it," Bores said. "If you storm the Capitol and you take from this slush fund, too bad, we're taking it."

🚨BREAKING: A manager at a local diner asked ICE agents for a warrant before they searched a private areas of the business… and their response… slamming him to the ground, and putting a knee in his back, leaving him injured.
Because apparently exercising your constitutional rights is now being treated like obstruction.
According to witnesses, ICE agents were chasing someone who ran into the restaurant after a traffic stop. The manager reportedly told them they could not just storm through the kitchen without judicial authorization.
Because the Fourth Amendment is still a thing… even though ICE agents keep pretending it isn’t.
Law enforcement cannot just search private areas of a business because they feel like it. A kitchen, in a restaurant, is not a public space.
When agents do not have consent, exigent circumstances, or a valid warrant signed by a judge… then managers have every right to question that search.
That is literally how constitutional protections work.
And the fact that the manager was injured, after asserting those rights, should outrage everyone.
Rights either apply to everyone… or they are not rights at all.

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's son has been secretly working as a political appointee attorney at the U.S. Treasury Department, raising serious conflict of interest questions as high-stakes cases involving the agency have made their way to the nation's highest court, according to a report.
While working there the SC heard a case on Trumps emergency powers and Justice Alito failed to to recuse himself. Alito’s son most likely got the job because of his father and he maintains no public resume, has no LinkedIn profile and his name appears nowhere on the Treasury Department's website.

Trump may not have attended his son's wedding, but now we know his wedding present:
$600 million of your tax dollars to one of his companies.
The Trump family grift knows no bounds, and neither should our resolve to stop it.
