@abarkett17 Gap to gap bp should be the number 1 thing you’re doing hitting on the field. My college coach told me if you can’t hit homeruns to CF, well you ain’t a homerun hitter, so try and do that in bp. Stuck with me for my entire career and as a coach now.

Talked to Manny Ramirez today about taking batting practice. He said today’s BP has become pull-side homers and exit velo. He and David Ortiz worked gap-to-gap. Middle of the field first. The home runs showed up on their own. That isn’t an accident. ⚾️ Habits are important!

With transfer portal there are too many lateral moves. Players going from programs that never win anything to other programs that will never win anything! Those players would be better off staying put. Losing is easy.

I really want to like soccer man but the flopping and acting like you took a shot from prime Mike Tyson when you are touched by an opposing player is a joke. Then getting up and sprinting once you realize you didn’t get the call…

My wife and I talk about this all the time. The professionalism in softball is non existent. The hiring processes at some institutions are baffling to say the least. The people that suffer are the actual good coaches and players.

This is now the issue with NIL. Players are making significantly more than they ever will at the professional level. You’re going to continue to see players hold out because they don’t know how actual business works at the pro level. You don’t call the shots anymore homie.

Ah yes the day where good D1 programs poach good D1 players so they don’t have to develop high school kids and bad D1 programs recycle bad D1 players. Words of wisdom, if you weren’t good at that level you should probably drop a level. Or go hit .220 for a 10-40 program again.

With the softball transfer portal being officially open, please remember: 🥎 725 entered the portal in 2025, 30% (275) did not matriculate at another NCAA school (any Division). 🥎 25% of those who were on aid when they transferred did NOT receive aid at their new school.

What are these coaches doing. Pitcher throwing 200 pitches. The other team is just flipping back and forth like a bad showcase. That’s all you got?!?!?!?! You are UCLA and Texas Tech and that’s all you got? Nobody has pitched good it’s 7-6 and I wonder why, wearing folk out.

I cannot imagine being a college coach right now. Kids and parents can say whatever they want in an attempt to get coaches fired or in trouble, often with little to no consequences, while coaches are rarely allowed to publicly defend themselves. As a former college coach, I’ve been in their shoes, and I genuinely feel for them. I’m not saying every coach is right, and I’m not saying every player or parent is wrong. I’m simply saying there are always two sides to a story, and the internet usually only hears one of them. I’m glad Karen’s name was cleared and that this situation brought attention to what is really happening in college sports today. This is exactly why college coaches recruit character, family values, and parents just as much as they recruit athletic talent.

Perfect example of why I call handshake lines fake sportsmanship, and that your teams play should show the sportsmanship. Respect the game the way you play it🤝 Shake a hand if you want to shake it…fake handshakes are not a sign of respect

Softball teams obsession with this song runs so deep I think they are literally keeping this song relevant for this many years. I didn’t even know that actual people liked this song until I coached softball. But boy oh boy does a team full of 18-22 year old softballers LOVE it 😂

@jazzvesely That’s why I can’t even blame some players now for the way they act. Just go look at mom and pops wanting to fight people at a literal game, that they have zero involvement in. If those type of parents were my parents I would be thoroughly embarrassed.

🗣️🗣️ Softball parents… STAY OFF SOCIAL PLEASE! Too much drama is being started because someone’s momma or daddy can’t stay off Facebook! We telling the players to represent themselves well on social and parents acting a FOOL! Support your team and kid!
