@TedAtchley3 @ztrussell @Lorehaven "Should" is a strong word. My books happen to do that, but we just need more Christians writing non-offensive books for the larger culture. IMO, the only "should" is to have themes & tones not in conflict with Biblical values. Not necessarily any Sunday School lessons.

With Christian-made stories, there's an urge to make them "do" something, like clearly present the gospel to the reader. Or at least have a character respond to an altar call.
But must a novel fulfill the Great Commission?

Christian fiction in general has been disastrous for as long as I've been alive. They way they've been written you'd think the entire point of our faith was Not Being Mean so that Mildly Uncomfortable things wouldn't happen

This year is completely carried by the ending of both the Gathers Saga and the ending of the Harris & Epting run.
For the rest of year, its a roundtable of writers & artists as book feels like it's spinning its wheels again.
Grade: C+

It's the Avengers 30th Anniversary as Harris & Epting continue their Gatherers Saga.
We also get a somewhat mediocre Avengers/X-Men crossover in Bloodties.
Epting & Palmer's art work continues to be a major highlight.
Grade: B+

After that, Harris & Epting start their run in earnest with mystery villains and a whole lot of soap opera.

Steve Epting arrives and he Tom Palmer will be a amazing art duo.
