TIL that Ruby 3.2+ will compile YJIT support by default if rustc is detected. But how many Ruby devs know this, and have rust installed? For Ruby 3.2 local users, what do you get from $ ruby --yjit -e "puts RubyVM::YJIT.enabled?" Anyone get false?

@typecraft_dev I made the switch to Bluefin (projectbluefin.io) -- based on this concept of atomic/immutable environments and containers everywhere -- and have been loving it

You know. The past few weeks I switched from arch to ubuntu and I don't feel I'm missing anything. What *should* I be missing?

@nateberkopec The latest docker desktop for Mac includes a custom VMM (beta setting) you can opt into, was performing on par with Orbstack * for me, on an M1 Pro, in a legacy rails app with many small files and 15yrs of git history, that thrashes disk io

So I'm not sure Orbstack actually is faster or not than Docker Desktop, but I can say that I haven't hit any edge cases/failures with Orbstack so far. It "just works".

Introducing the Ghostty "Quick Terminal" feature: a terminal that drops-down based on a global keybind (also sometimes known as a Doom or Quake-style terminal). This was one of Ghostty's most requested features.

I've fully converted to using Docker for all the services a Rails app needs for local dev: SQL db, Redis, Memcached, etc etc. It's easy, cross-platform, allows everyone to have the same config, easy to onboard.
