@GiusCaminiti If everyone says "it's too hard", it's too hard. If everyone says "it's boring", it's too easy. If a few people complain it's too hard and most say they enjoy the challenge, that sounds like it's exactly where you want it.

Player feedback is one of the most valuable things you can have as an indie gamedev, but it is also one of the hardest things to interpret. How and when do you know whether you should listen to it and when you should not? For a long time now, one of the main complaints about my game has been the difficulty. I have adjusted it a lot over the past year, and it can probably still be adjusted further. Still, my vision for the game, and the design behind many of its systems, is for it to be challenging. Now I have reached the hard part: some players complain that it is too difficult, others say it is too easy, and even in posts where people ask me to make it easier, there are many others asking me not to change it because they like the current difficulty and feel it is part of what makes the game stand out in the genre. So the real challenge is... where do you go from here? It is definitely part of the job as a developer, but it is not always easy to know when to say “the game is fine like this” and ignore the few negative reviews and comments that are hard to deal with. So yes, player feedback is incredibly valuable, but having judgment, knowing how to interpret it, and deciding how to act on it is just as important!

Any other ADHD/NDs hesitate to sit down and work on a creative project, even one you DESPERATELY want to do, because you're afraid that once you get into hyperfocus mode, you'll need to stop in the middle for some reason and fear the pain of having to interrupt the flow?

A Zelda II: Adventure of Link feature in the Japanese Family Computer Magazine featured 51 tips, one of them being fake as a challenge to readers. The fake trick claimed that drinking from a fountain 5 times would turn it into Mario, and that he must be destroyed to get a 1-Up.

I think maybe the account @kwikwik914 has been hacked and whoever is in control of it is trying to scam me via dm's. or maybe its the original account holder? i'm unsure but the attempt was rather poor 👎

There should be a law that the volume of a container must be at least 90% of the volume of its convex hull. Just opened a box of cookies shaped like🭦🬂🬂🭛for no discernible reason other than to look like it had more cookies. Seen fancy spice containers shaped like 🮚 as well.

In 2023, I posted about a bizarre Dolce & Gabbana shirt featuring Mario standing in a beam of light alongside text praising him. I have tracked down the source of the image, which was a splash page in the E3 2000 brochure. Now the venerated Mario can be seen in high quality.
