My abortion is the kind people love to judge the most. I wasn’t underage, I wasn’t assaulted, and there was no medical emergency. I got pregnant because I knowingly had unprotected sex, no accident, no rare failure, just my own choices. By their standards, it was “irresponsible.” I knew abortion was an option, and I took it. Not because I couldn’t survive it or raise a child, I simply didn’t want one. I wanted sex without becoming a parent, and I chose not to carry the pregnancy. There’s no redemption arc here. I don’t regret it. Nothing terrible happened to me afterward, no punishment, no downfall. My life is still good. And that reality alone challenges everything people like to assume about women who make this choice.

Abortion is valid and okay even if the pregnancy didn’t come from rape or involve a minor. “If the mother simply doesn’t want the baby,” that’s valid. “If she’s not financially, mentally, or physically able to raise a child,” that’s valid. “If the father leaves and she can’t or doesn’t want to raise the baby alone,” that’s valid. “If she’s struggling with addiction that could affect the child,” that’s valid. “If the fetus has serious health issues and abortion is needed,” that’s valid. People need to understand that a woman doesn’t have to be harmed or violated to have control over her own body. If you’re thinking about children, you should also think about the mother. Save the tree, not just the apple.

Also, I got pregnant on two different kinds of birth control, while using condoms (and didn't abort).

You opened your legs, decided not to use protection and brought a child into this world. Like your college education, how is that child’s health care costs and your child care costs our burden to pay with our tax dollars? How about you help pay my 15k property/ school taxes even though my kids are adults. Or are your expenses just more important than others?

Can someone explain this to me like you would a child. The majority of liberals oppose the death penalty even for horrendous crimes. But are totally fine with abortions. Why? I fail to see the logic.

Or health insurance. Or daycare. Or housing. Or child support.

Mandatory vasectomies at 16, you can apply to have them reversed when you and your partner are ready. Boom - no more abortions. But there's not a single forced birth XY out there who will agree to this solution.

Fact is that pregnancy is NOT A PUNISHMENT for a completely normal human activity, and it's cruel to treat a child like that.

Then the smart thing to do if she doesn't want a baby is to simply NOT do the ONE thing that creates a baby. It's really simple. Say, No glove no love. Use Birth control. The morning after pill. Spermicidal lubricant. Many many options to avoid pregnancy. Even with rape you have options to take to avoid it. In a hospital. Once you report it, they have options. Some invasive, others not. It's possible. Just take responsibility for your actions.

Forcing a child to give birth isn't a heroic or moral. Torturing a little girl under the guise of "saving a baby" puts the barbarity on full display. Denying a child necessary medical care is abuse & is dangerous as it can result in permanent damage to multiple organs & death.
