Loyalty is not a trait that needs boasting for validity. The thought that it should be blindly or recklessly handed out speaks loudly and clearly to the content of the culture that is present.

Surely we wouldn’t want to further perpetuate the standard of suffering in silence—in the name of “that’s how it’s always been”. At this point, we all know that resistance and unwillingness to adapt is detrimental to success. It’s time this notion is applied in both directions.

If these few years of sports have taught us nothing, it’s that flashes in time NEVER tell the full story. Wearing the same jersey, fighting the same fights, playing or not, will NEVER equate to bearing the same load. Your cherished experience CAN BE someone else’s driving fire.

To every single student athlete: You are SO MUCH MORE than the jersey you put on, the sport that you compete in, the successes that you enjoy, and the failures that you endure!! Solutions will come as we all band together and restructure this system like our lives depend on it.

PSA: Kids shouldn’t have to keep dying for coaches to catch on. Kids shouldn’t have to keep transferring. Kids shouldn’t have to keep being the bigger person. They’re just kids. It’s time for emotional intelligence from the adults. Sports were never that important. Be better.

A very sad day today for many in the softball community. A life taken way too early. Our entire organization mourns the loss of Paige. It doesn’t take much to remind the ones around you that they are important to you. Rest In Peace #33
