Russia plans to mobilize 500,000 personnel this autumn to address front-line shortages and potentially open a new offensive axis. Conscripts will either "plug holes" in the East or train for a new front amid intense winter infantry combat. kyivpost.com/post/80585

I also spoke with Oleksandr Syrskyi today. Decisions regarding the army will be developed. I thank everyone who cares about Ukraine," the President said.

The Trump admin is hobbling the ability of foreign media to report on the US. Taking steps like China and Russia do to restrict US reporters. No justification for it, but to force foreign reporters to parrot the White House line.
National Press Club@PressClubDC

WASHINGTON, July 17 – The National Press Club President Mark Schoeff Jr. today issued the following statement on new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rules put in place that would limit the ability of foreign correspondents to live, work, and report in the United States:

In April, pro-Kremlin blogger Ilya Remeslo predicted Putin would soon lose power in "something like a palace coup." 3 months later, it's Remeslo facing prosecution: the authorities arrested him today on charges of spreading "fake news" about Russia's army. meduza.io/en/feature/202…

Trump declassified US intelligence documents unintentionally showing that Russia sought to undermine Joe Biden and deepen social divisions ahead of the 2020 US presidential election. The documents say that Putin oversaw influence efforts involving state media, intermediaries and intelligence-linked actors, but Trump largely avoided mentioning Russia in his accompanying remarks, focusing instead on China and election security ahead of the midterms.

Andriy Yermak – the former head of Zelenskyy's presidential office who is facing corruption charges – met with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi at a frontline command post. It's a very bad sign when the anti-reform faction comes together like this. pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2026/…

This was really the Tulsi Gabbard school of persuasion: Put out a bunch of documents, claim they say things that they obviously don’t, presuming that your target audience won’t bother to read them. More from @RadioFreeTom theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/07/…

This is really incredible. Docs released by Trump tonight confirm RUSSIA tried to spread claims Biden was engaged in criminal activity vis-a-vis Burisma and that it advanced those narratives "with US officials" and planed a "high-profile corruption scandal... at the peak of the 2020 US presidential campaign."

Belarusian opposition Coordination Council decides to pursue talks with Lukashenko Artyom Brukhan, the speaker of the Council and deputy leader of its key faction, the Pavel Latushko Block, has prepared a resolution to hold a joint round table with the Lukashenko regime aimed at "overcoming the political crisis and strengthening the independence of the Republic of Belarus." The stated goals of the initiative are "organizing a national dialogue," "ending repression," and "protecting sovereignty." However, the draft resolution has not yet been adopted. Other members of the Council have proposed amending it to include clauses on "the status of Belarus as an aggressor country and the right of the people to resist occupation." The Coordination Council did not specify how exactly this dialogue would be conducted or whether Alexander Lukashenko himself has agreed to it. Political analyst Dmitry Bolkunets commented on Brukhan's initiative to SOTA: "Lukashenko is fully prepared for the round table proposed by the esteemed members of the Coordination Council. Anyone wishing to participate can head there today. At the border, they will be met by Lukashenko’s representatives, immediately placed under round-the-clock guard, provided with free housing and food, and assigned an individual cot. Then, everyone wishing to speak and present their position will be given the opportunity. They will be listened to carefully and asked clarifying questions. There will be plenty of time for this. In between the sessions, they will be able to engage in some form of labor. The daily routine will also be organized at a high level. In the morning, waking up to the sounds of the national anthem; in the evening, lights out on schedule. Before going to bed, participants can look forward to a mandatory broadcast of the day's news from the country and the world." A total of 2,113 people participated in the elections for the Belarusian opposition Coordination Council. As a reminder, Ilya Ponomarev’s "Congress of People's Deputies" previously declared Russia a "terrorist state." Alexander Lukashenko. Photo: official website
