Not a fan of ICE but when people visit Italy and other developed countries do they not pay attention?

@_PrezDez_ @CantEverDie never met a trans person who thinks everyone is secretly trans. its always poly people or trad larpers that are trying to convince you their lifestyle is universal biological imperative.

toxic masculinity was a discourse from like 2014-2016 and no one has really talked about it since and these people have never been able to get over it, biggest babies ever

Dave Portnoy on why young men went right and turned against the left: "They’re anti-normal guys… the white guy became the ‘bad guy.’ And a lot of white dudes were like, ‘Well, I’m not the bad guy. What are you getting mad at me for?’"

@atlanticesque Pakistan got those things because they align with other nation's interests. Saudis wont subsidize Pakistan's human economy but they were happy to help get the nuclear program up and running. US was a major patron and beneficiary of Pakistani intel, etc.

Everything Price Sufferer (but especially eggs)
It's conservative in the classical Burkean sense of moral forthrightness, rural romanticism and monarchism, which barely exists in American political thought. Tolkien would not think seed oils are making us trans.
grace@agneswickfields

i think lotr still holds the title for ‘most overtly conservative work by a hardcore right winger the lefty fans of which aggressively attempt to pretend aligns with their principles’ but dune has gotta be up there too i think

@Jesse_Brenneman no shit but there's a reason democracies don't give the executive total control over an all-purpose loyalist paramilitary that circumvents regular government. in 1936 you might have gone to the olympics and thought "hmmm i wonder why the SS is here"

It could be that the ICE at airports thing has some devious logic behind it but it also seems highly possible to me that Trump has absolutely no idea what’s going on and hears that TSA isn’t working and it’s the Democrats’ fault so he sends ICE because they’re his guys.

I explained the entire economic situation to my dad and he did take any of it seriously until the TV explained it to him the exact same way.

my mom once showed me the house my parents bought for 70k fresh out of school. she was like “okay but you have to understand we were only making 70k per year combined!” i was like “you’re telling me you bought a house for the same amount as your joint annual income at age 25?”

@binarybits @Romy_Holland You mean the mortgage interest that's tax deductible was a greater percentage of their payment and the property value that gets taxed was a lower number? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me

@Romy_Holland Something to keep in mind here is that interest rates were *much* higher in 1980. They peaked around 18% in 1981. So the mortgage payment on a 1x-your-income house in 1980 was much larger (relatively to your income) than a 1x-your-income house today when rates are around 6%.

@avidseries Please bear in mind that due to the principle of Taqqiya you can't believe anything a Muslim says because their religion instructs them to lie to unbelievers if it will advance the cause of global Islam.

Across the Muslim world, only a very small percentage of people believe homosexuality is acceptable. But half of Muslims in the US believe it's acceptable. In the UK, on the other hand, between roughly only 0% to 25% (depending on the poll) believe homosexuality is acceptable, and some polls have indicated that not only does a huge majority believe it is unacceptable, but also most think it should be illegal. This is the sort of thing the British are up against.

@FBallAnalysisYT Claypool is one of those unicorn skillset players that coaches fail to correctly utilize because they think their scheme is more important than the personnel. Deebo Samuel could have been JAG if he didn't land in SF or another forward thinking offense

Chase Claypool having an 800 yard 11 total touchdown rookie season at 22 years old and being entirely out of the league 3 years later is pretty wild tbh
