Both Celtic and Police Scotland have issued statements after 14 arrests were made following unsavoury scenes at Celtic Park and in Glasgow city centre after Saturday's SPFL title-decider.

SFA needs to show a scintilla of responsibility and leadership and introduce proper sanctions for pitch invasions from next season - stand closure, closed doors games, points deduction, forfeiture of a game. This stuff has to stop. It’s getting worse

@DPJHodges The game was NOT abandoned, the match referee - the sole arbiter of time - blew the final whistle. That is fact. Regardless of why he did so or whether he should have done so. Any comeback would be on him but highly unlikely. The result cannot change.

So on Celtic v Hearts. Serious point. When Celtic's third goal goes in there are clearly 30 seconds of the match remaining. So the game has to restart. But it didn't. The game had to be abandoned because of the actions of the Celtic fans. Hearts players were assaulted. So in any normal circumstances surely that would mean the awarding of a 3-0 win to Hearts.

SPFL & Hearts informed by match officials that the game was ended normally amid Celtic pitch invasion. Osmand’s goal to make it 3-1 came with 40 secs + any additional stoppage time still remaining. Hearts expected to ask questions on security & safety. nytimes.com/athletic/72845…

@SPost_DaveLord It is up to the Referee when the game ends. He doesn’t need to blow the whistle, he just needs to signal. The game was not abandoned!
