Tonight at 9:56 PM, my father went Home. In his final moments I read him testimony from his soldiers - words describing his heroism during December 2-4, 1968, the acts that earned him the Distinguished Service Cross with Valor. We had just discovered new testimony from the men who served beside him. As I read those words to him, he grew calm. And then he was gone. He left this world knowing he was a war hero. Knowing he was loved. Knowing Jesus was waiting. He was surrounded by his two dogs, his wife, and two of his daughters - Nancy and Mary. As he passed, his dog Sugar put her head in my lap. My dog Liberty put her paws on my knees. Even they knew it was time to say goodbye. On Friday I watched my father accept Christ as his Savior. Tonight I watched him go Home to meet Him. And tonight also happened to be one of his grandson’s birthdays. God doesn’t do coincidences. He chose this day on purpose. A life celebrated as another began. He fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith.2 Timothy 4:7 Rest now, Dad. Your work in this world is done. 🙏♥️

I relapsed last night. I don’t even really know what to say… I’m just tired, frustrated, and honestly kinda disappointed in myself. Revelation 19:20 (NKJV) states: “Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” This is one of the final scenes in Bible prophecy. Two powers are named in the passage above, the beast and the false prophet. Both deceived the world. Both stand against God. Who then is the false prophet? The false prophet is a religious power that claims to speak for God while actually leading people away from Him. It looks spiritual and it sounds convincing, and it uses signs and wonders. Yet underneath all of that, it is helping Satan’s work, not God’s. When you compare Revelation 19 with Revelation 13, they go into greater detail. The false prophet is tied to the second beast of Revelation 13. That second beast performs miracles, deceives the earth, and pushes the world to honor the first beast. In other words, the false prophet is not working alone. It is part of a larger end time alliance. In Revelation 13, the first beast, rises from the sea. The second beast, rises from the earth. The second beast later uses its power to force worship back to the first beast. Revelation 13:12 says it causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. Then a few verses later, it performs signs and deceives people into making an image to the beast. The false prophet is connected to Revelation 19 and the second beast to Revelation 13. The false prophet is the religious voice of that system. It is the one persuading, promoting, and deceiving. Historically, the first beast is the Papacy, a religious and political power that ruled for centuries and persecuted God’s people. The second beast has been identified as the United States, a power that arose in a relatively new land and appeared gentle at first, like a lamb, yet later speaks like a dragon. The false prophet then represents apostate Protestantism, especially as it joins hands with civil power and supports the agenda of the first beast. That is the key. It is not faithful Protestantism standing on Scripture. It is Protestantism that has drifted, compromised, and given up Bible truth for religious power, popularity, and unity at any cost. This fits what Revelation 16 says as well. There, John sees unclean spirits coming out of the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. That shows a threefold alliance, an unholy counterfeit trinity, in the last days. They work together, speak together, and they deceive together. One of the biggest marks of the false prophet is deception through signs and wonders. Revelation 13 says it performs great signs. Revelation 19 says those signs deceive people into receiving the mark of the beast and worshiping his image. Paul gives the same warning in 2 Thessalonians 2, where he speaks of Satan working with power, signs, and lying wonders. Therefore, this is not harmless religion. This is counterfeit spirituality. Like the papacy, it looks impressive, but it is not. It is pulling people away from obedience to God. This also explains why the issue in the last days is worship. The false prophet is not mainly about politics, even though politics gets involved. It is about worship. It is about who people obey; God or man? Truth or tradition? Scripture or religious pressure? Revelation 13 shows that the second beast uses power to enforce worship. That means church and state come together. Religion reaches for civil authority. That union is dangerous every time it happens. History has already shown that. Prophecy says it will happen again. That is why worship becomes such an important issue in the last days. It is not just about a day. It is about authority. Who has the right to define worship, God or man? The false prophet helps push the world toward man made worship, while God calls His people back to His commandments and the faith of Jesus [Revelation 14:12]. Surfice it to say, the false prophet is not simply one man walking around doing miracles. It is a system of religious deception. It speaks as though it represents God, yet it supports false worship. It works with the beast. It helps deceive the world. It encourages the image of the beast. It leads people toward the mark of the beast. Its end, however, is already written. Revelation 19 says the beast (the papal system) and the false prophet (apostate Protestantism) are captured and thrown into the lake of fire. Their power does not last, and their deception does not win forever. God will judge them. Christ will triumph and truth will stand. That is why this subject is not just about identifying prophetic symbols. It is a warning. Jesus said false prophets would arise and deceive many. God’s people must know His Word for themselves. They cannot survive on feelings, crowds, miracles, or YouTube channels, or impressive religious talk. They must test everything by Scripture. In the end, the false prophet represents religious deception in its final form, a power that looks godly on the outside while helping carry out Satan’s agenda underneath. It is closely tied to the second beast of Revelation 13, works in support of the first beast, and plays a major role in leading the world into false worship. But its fall is certain, and God’s call is still going out, “Come out of her, my people” [Revelation 18:4]. GBY
