Here’s a cheat sheet of how Satan whispers: If only you were... People think you’re so... Why can’t you just... You're too much. You're not enough. Don’t help him get you into a state of defeat by believing and repeating his scripts. God knows you completely and loves you fully!

@kyairb @natwexler @ClassroomWonder Spoiler: @kyairb’s kids crushed it. He told me, and they showed me, years ago. But the initial doubts are really important to contemplate. Teachers need to believe All Kids Can. His journey, and the similar story from @DelorisELACoach, make this podcast a must.
Kyair@kyairb

And the results from my students and @BaltCitySchools kids generally prove that our kids can achieve and at the highest levels in beautiful and meaningful ways. @Teachwithclass2 @SonjaSantelises @WitWisdomELA

We can’t get enough of this new #KnowledgeMatters podcast! Episode 3 with Tennessean @DelorisELACoach has definitely been our favorite! #Reading360
Natalie Wexler@natwexler

Like many teachers, @DelorisELACoach was skeptical when she was first asked to use a knowledge-building curriculum. She felt it would be too hard for her 3rd graders & they wouldn't be interested. Listen to Ep 3 to find out what changed her mind. knowledgematterscampaign.org/post/podcast-s…

The reading strategy practiced is the one students will use. Want them to guess? Give them books full of words they cannot decode. Want them to attend to the text and use the words to read? Give them books with words composed of the phonics and structures they have learned.

Tennessee teachers are some of the most talented and dedicated professionals I know, and they are going to set America on fire with their accomplishments in the next few years. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Karen Vaites@karenvaites

This is HUGE: Tennessee becomes first state to announce higher reading outcomes than pre-pandemic, with higher ELA proficiency than 2019. "The highest proficiency the state has seen in the last five years" in BOTH elem & HS. #Reading360 pays off! tn.gov/education/news…

I think when we get to heaven, the places we served in secret will actually be what prompts Jesus to say, “Well done. Remember when you took the time to listen and love that person? That’s the day you helped change the world.”

We began Unit 2 in CKLA yesterday with a virtual field trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo to observe some animals. The students were super engaged! @natwexler @ClassroomWonder

Remind your heart of this truth today: God has given me power, love, and a sound mind. Therefore, I can walk unafraid. I can live unafraid. I can be unafraid. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Most great teachers didn’t start out that way! But… 1) They reflected on what worked and what didn’t. 2) They learned from their colleagues. 3) They always kept their focus on the students. Every teacher can be a BETTER teacher!

If you notice a successful principal, you should assume there is a faculty and staff that is crushing it.
