Why were the police on your train? There was a death between Stevenage & Hitchin which caused delays & throughout LNER. In the last couple of years, every time I travel by train it seems some poor sod has been hit by a train & I'm sitting there wishing it was possible that I or someone could have talked to them.

@oldenoughtosay It would go small van, van (transit, inc long-wheel-base I think they’re called), truck (esp if they’re carrying animals), lorry anything above the sort of vehicle that carries lots of sheep. If no animals but that size I’d prob still say truck, but also maybe small lorry.

Scotland now has fewer schools with a librarian than the rest of the UK, this needs to change. If any MSPs would like to find out more about the impact of school librarians and libraries come and chat to us, last day in @ScotParl

Surgery seemed to go well, altho quite invasive as this was a recurrence of an unpredictable cancer. It was in a tricky place, hence the decision to put her through surgery again (which was not a decision taken lightly). All being well, she should be home tomorrow. Thanks all X

What is odd about the Assisted Dying discussion is the silence around the biggest killer of older people, dementia. Because it is impossible for someone with dementia to give informed consent. But it is also impossible, or very difficult, for them to give consent before their dementia renders them not lucid enough to do so, because the present bill only covers those with no more than six months to live. So at the moment the main issue is not in the conversation.

Lovely moment at the nursing home service. A 90 year old lady from Elgol, Skye, on hearing 'Amazing Grace', sang the whole hymn from memory in Gaelic and with perfect pitch. “I never learned English till I was 9, and I’ve never sung in Gaelic since then until this afternoon.”

@DrFrancisYoung @TheWomanfredi Well, according to St Hippolytus of Rome’s Rite of Ordination, we are instructed to ‘lift up your hearts’, so I’m good with it being a celebration, tbh.

@TheWomanfredi ‘It was a celebratory event, as all ordinations should be’ - I’ve never got this fixation on ordination as celebration

The candidates chose to be ordained by another bishop because they are “out of fellowship with their bishop.” “Out of fellowship.” New passive aggressive CofE phrase just dropped.

I've created a brand new museum …in the Metaverse! @meta Quest 3 and @UofGlasgow’s ‘Museums in the Metaverse’ project has digitised thousands of artefacts so you can see and handle them from home. It's pretty cool! Visit 'my' museum here👇#ad

Reading the unreadable… 🎼 When faded iron gall ink is imaged under UV radiation, this imaging technique can enhance the readability of otherwise illegible text. Here music dating from the early 1400s is now readable after being imaged under UV-induced visible luminescence.
