How can we successfully develop #CCS value chains in Europe?   By establishing a solid business case. 💪 Current incentives under the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme (#ETS) aren’t enough to fully underpin the investments by entities trying to establish CCS value chains.  A change in approach and especially incentives is needed.  More insights here 👉 bitly.ws/3auRA @AxelScheuer

#CCS, a key to decarbonize the industry? Insightful exchange of ideas with @wintershalldea CTO Hugo Dijkgraaf during yesterday's parliamentary evening in Brussels. Some of his key points were: 💡 Let's contribute to CCS with skills we are good at: the oil & gas industry contributes to CCS with its knowledge of the underground ⚙ Everything that works must be done when it comes to CO2 reduction: that means being open to the technologies we use ➡️ There is no color in #hydrogen: all low-carbon hydrogen sources are needed for the creation of the future of the hydrogen market

.@FRegisMouton at the European Gas Conference: 🔷 #NaturalGas will play a key role in meeting our energy needs, 🔷 #NZIA paves the way for #CCUS scale-up but provisions need strengthening, 🔷 Low-carbon #hydrogen role must be recognized too. 💻 iogpeurope.org

Carbon capture and storage technologies have often been criticised as an excuse to avoid cutting CO2 emissions at the source. However, they are necessary to meet climate targets and Denmark aspires to be a European leader in this regard, writes Lars… dlvr.it/Skz4Bv

La CSS è fondamentale per il futuro dell’industria in Europea, per mantenerla competitiva a livello globale e per salvaguardare i posti di lavoro, la ricerca e l’innovazione ad essa associati. Ma dove si trovano i progetti di CCS oggi? ✍️ @dematteis_ca 🫴 bit.ly/3KXMUld

The European #gas value chain sent a letter to @vonderleyen on The Green Deal Industrial Plan calling for: 🔷 an open, inclusive and pragmatic approach to all decarbonization options, 👉 including natural, renewable and decarbonized #gases and #CCUS. 📨bit.ly/3kXNvYW

To become climate neutral, deep and drastic emissions cuts will always be the core of our efforts.    But it is impossible to bring all of our emissions down to zero. We need carbon removals as well, through technology or natural carbon sinks. #EUGreenDeal
