The white Leftists dulled my empathy for the Palestinians when they thought harassment of American Jews was an acceptable trademark of their movement.

@JakeTSelby @speechboy71 They weren’t a state though. It was a British colony and prior to that it was part of the Ottoman empire. The onus is on them to just not be suicidal maniacs hellbent on killing Jews and electing terrorist leadership. It’s really not a tall order. They need to join the world.

I really don’t understand what’s radical of conditioning aid and sales on a country that’s been violating intl law for seven decades. The democratic base finally sees Netanyahu not a cause but a symptom of a larger problem of Israel.
It’s not on the dems to fix their base it’s on Israel to change course

Democrats are trying to buy time on Israel by making Netanyahu the whole issue.
It is a way to appease an increasingly radical part of their base without admitting how far that base has moved from even conditional support for the U.S.-Israel alliance.

The belief that global perceptions of Israel are totally unrelated to Israeli conduct is extremely widespread, both in Israel and in American pro-Israel circles.

Israel had a massive left-wing movement and left wing governments. They tried earnestly for years to make peace, and received suicide bombings in return. Because for the Palestinian “partner” the peace process was tactical, not strategic.
Somehow this is all forgotten today.
