@speechboy71 You've been on a role with takes recently, but I respectfully disagree here. Cuba has a robust spy network in the U.S. that undermines Nat Sec (see e.g. Manuel Rocha), allows Russia/China to operate espionage sites, and the ongoing worry of a refugee/humanitarian crisis.

Mayor Mamdani: New Yorkers elected a mayor to lead this city — not to make Israel the centerpiece of your political grandstanding. Your video is rife with distortions and disinformation. And at a time of rising antisemitism, repeatedly singling out and vilifying the world's only Jewish state for perceived political benefit is repugnant, puts Jews at greater risk — and leaves many Jewish New Yorkers feeling targeted and unwelcome in the city we call home. Once upon a time, Mamdani supporters insisted their guy would focus on the wellbeing of New Yorkers - and dismissed as paranoia the prediction that anti-Israel animus was the consistent principle of his political life.

Mayor Mamdani knew all along that he could never arrest Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu or any foreign leader in New York City, which hosts the United Nations. Yet, he postured, virtue-signaled, used fiery rhetoric & lied as part of the tried & tested "pro-Palestine" ethos & strategy post-10/7 to build a political career and curry favor with a radicalized and selectively outraged voter base. This is the state of the contemporary “pro-Palestine” and anti-Zionist movements: zero accomplishments; no progress for Gazans or Palestinians on the ground; hollow sloganeering; empty promises; using Palestinians for personal gain; spreading divisiveness and unnecessarily incendiary language that goes nowhere; making a point but never making a difference, and blaming failures on everyone else. Mamdani is the latest iteration of a well-established pattern that has gotten the Palestinian people nowhere for decades. This is precisely why the DSA socialists, the neo-Communists, and Islamists are dangerous and cannot be trusted as actual allies and custodians of the Palestinian cause, nor as real partners in building prosperous and improved Western societies.

At 6:29 a.m. on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a murderous attack on Israeli civilians - men, women, and children. It was the deadliest act of terrorism and antisemitic violence against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Among those murdered, burned, raped, and slaughtered were Israelis and Americans; Jews, Christians, and Muslims. No one can rewrite history and turn the aggressor into the victim. Nothing can obscure the atrocities committed by this abhorrent terrorist organization against civilians in their homes, in their own country. The people of Israel will stand united against any attempt to do so. In the face of terrorism and the darkest forces of hatred - which New York City knows all too well from the horrors of September 11 - truth must always prevail. The remarks by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani are a reckless distortion of the truth. They are pure antisemitism, with no basis in fact. They are dangerous, inflammatory, and have no place anywhere - certainly not in 2026. At a time when populism is on the rise and some leaders count on the public having a short memory, we will not allow anyone to question the right of the people of Israel to live in security in their own country. Nor will we accept any attempt to equate despicable terrorist organizations with the Israel Defense Forces - our safeguard. The IDF operates according to clear values and in accordance with international law, with a deep conviction in the justice of its cause.
