@FSoaS_ Mantreads I never use outside of trolldier. The extra mobility isn't really worth giving up the reduced damage OR a shotgun. 99% of the time, you don't need some crazy complex jump to get to where you want to go. I still think the Mantreads are useless outside of trolldier

TF2 Soldier players who are highly experienced with rocket jumping, I have to ask a question. Is there any situation where you would rather have the air mobility of the Mantreads over the extra jumps of the Gunboats? Are there any meaningful jumps you couldn't otherwise make?

@Htwogamedesign @FSoaS_ the fact knockback resistance does not effect airblast, kills it in casual tho, doesn't deny your argument but a tidbit to mention, pyro stays hard countering everything at close range except heavy

@FSoaS_ In 6's when you're trying to push last, a semi-common strategy is to do a mantreads sacc. One of your soldiers goes mantreads, gets overhealed, then bombs the med. The strafes make you hard to hit, and the knockback resist makes it hard for scouts and sentry guns to deny you

@FSoaS_ >300hrs on soldier, uncletopia main; prefer trolldier because of the satisfaction factor but I'll count it out cause you said so: the mantreads are inconsistent and disappointing even on trolldier, the gunboats utility for RJ'ing to safety even at ~25hp is too good to discard.

@tf_heavy if they had a more seasonal update cycle with better UI to portray it, better planning to actually spread out the content drops than just drop everything day one; it would feel better to wait for new updates. everything is either FOMO for 2 weeks or instantly added forever
