By the time of Ben's fall, Luke was arrogant and hubristic. He believed his own legend. He thought he was so great that he could train Ben and the dark side wouldn't be a problem, because he was the legendary Luke Skywalker. This is a major difference between old Luke and young Luke. So the default argument of "he tried to save Vader, he would never ignite his saber over Ben" really doesn't work, because the two events happened to very different Luke's. Over the 24 years between the two events, he changed as a person and came to believe that he was infallible. That's part of his failure.

Crazy to think this film was made before Captain America The First Avenger and Thor were even released. At that point, there was still real uncertainty about how audiences would respond to both the characters and the actors’ performances, which makes it even more interesting in hindsight.

@ManaByte Actually, they should do that. It’s called recasting.

All the people saying that Lucasfilm should de-canonize the Sequel Trilogy and make the Zahn trilogy as movies need to explain how you're supposed to make a movie set five years after Return of the Jedi with Luke, Han, and Leia still as young as they were at the end of ROTJ without recasting (which they'd reject), without CGI/AI (which they'd reject), and in live action in 2026.

@retneysholocron In some ways, I feel like TPM aged the best visually out of the prequels, since there were more locations that felt like real sets instead of all the green screened stuff

I love this movie but these shots are soooo funny like the environments don't even look real at all George was so preoccupied with whether or not he could, he didn't stop to think if he should...

Honestamente. El trato que han tenido con el personaje desde que terminó la tercera temporada de la serie original hizo que me lo tome un poco menos en serio. Vuelve a salir de la cárcel y a Matt le da igual, gana las elecciones y ni vimos como convenció al publico.
