@WpgJets87 @hangarhockey Maybe because they saw the writing on the wall? It was pretty obvious this team wasn’t gonna be anywhere near the level they were without Ehlers, not to mention they weren’t even close when they had him

@hangarhockey Terrible take. We won the presidents trophy last year and still not a lot of free agent interest. So either we are simply denying all these guys who wanna come here or you’re just wrong and free agents don’t wanna come here. Which one?

“It’s difficult for players to come to Winnipeg” Again with the excuses. Some fans will still buy it though. Build a winning team and players WILL join. This has been proven already when we were winning before and players were waiving all kinds of clauses. #NHLJets

I really hope the #nhljets have learned something from the play of Lambert Rosen and Salo. Yagers a guy who should be in the nhl next year and wouldnt be suprised if he also asks for a trade if hes given the “we never wanted him on the big club” Treatment next year
Evan Waldner@evanwaldner31

Brayden Yager has really elevated his game in the second half of the season. He opens the scoring for the #MBMoose with his 10th of the year. #NHLJetsNation #AHL

@John23gr @Chrisnoll_Sask @nhlburnerboi and then when Heinola was “supposed” to make the team he had ankle surgeries to start the year in back to back seasons which is unfortunate for everyone involved.

@John23gr @Chrisnoll_Sask @nhlburnerboi Heinola was never given the leash Salomonsson was at the same age, even the jets said Salo wouldn’t of been up this season if it weren’t for injuries and I don’t doubt they had the same idea for Heinola.

Probably one of the most difficult stat lines to predict for the Jets roster in the 2025-26 season... This might be a little bit optimistic for a prediction... but if Toews stays healthy this season, could the 37-year old get 40 points? #NHLJetsNation #GoJetsGo #JonathanToews

@DarrenRoss74 @herbytarlek @NikLynam The canes are set up to compete for the next decade. If the jets didn’t luck into hellebuyck with a 5th round pick they’d have been rebuilding 5 years ago

I've seen some people ask what this list looks like for past drafts. I thought that was a great question, so here's the top five draft steals from each of the past 10 drafts using the same methodology as my 2025 steals list. Obviously, not every player on here turned into an NHLer, nor should there be an expectation for that to happen. What you do see though, is that every year, there is a star in the top five. If some team drafted like this for a while and ended up with even a few stars like Kaprizov, Fox, DeBrincat, Robertson, Caufield, Zary, Stankoven, and Hutson, I'm pretty sure that GM would be labeled as the greatest drafter of all time. You can't expect every prospect called a steal to develop into a star, but if your team has a prospect on this list, there is plenty of reason to get excited...

Here are my biggest steals from the 2025 Draft based on where I had them ranked and where they were selected. I had Cameron Schmidt as a safe 1st rounder, Dallas getting him as a late 3rd is insane value. There were also some steals in the 7th as teams were comfortable taking small and skilled guys at that point, guys like Loranger, Dach, and Ekberg fit this description. My model also saw 1st round picks like Martone, Hagens, O'Brien, Carbonneau, and Eklund as very good pickups for where they were selected.

@MikeBartner He was hurt for basically every run since 17-18 (including this one). I have no doubt IF he can stay healthy that it will work out just fine in the playoffs
