@mameister4 also, not a prediction, but like I think many neuroscientists now: frustrated with the level of understanding and ways to describe the mind and how it works, but wtf doing it anyway.

Usually Galileo is credited with this prediction, some 1700 years later. Obviously he read the old literature carefully. What’s your favorite prediction from “The nature of things”? 3/3

My students roll their eyes when I suggest they scour the old literature for project ideas. So I took my own advice and curled up with Lucretius over the holidays. 1/3
