Strong half. Glad they pressed Barca (and did it that well). Barca struggled dealing with that all half. Could've nabbed more than 2 goals. Kept most of Barca's possession out of dangerous areas. A lot of great reads from Militao. Wing-backs are winning their duels. Camavinga excellent. Jude / Mbappe / Vini playing at a very high level. Key is sustaining this energy. How much do they have in the tank? Can't let Barca get momentum.

Biggest benefit of Xabi-ball is that the team *always* has it. The momentum stays with the team and the Bernabeu knows the waves of attack will continue. Biggest thing today that hasn't resulted in clear-cut chances is that the front four are barely getting into the box. I can understand GG's insertion because the team needs more clinical finishing, but most of the touches are outside the box and balls aren't coming in, or line-breaking attempts haven't worked. Would expect more chances like we saw at the end there in the 2nd half. Militao scoring that goal was huge. Can't keep having so much control without scoring goals. I think part of the idea is to exert the press like maniacs in first half hoping it leads to a solid lead to give you a cushion for transition attacks in the 2nd half.

@mediocentr0 the chances of the player getting injured is exponentially higher in the first 20 minutes, since the tempo of the game is also much higher than in the second half of the game. That's why it's much more safe to give them some minutes in the second half.
