All of this mess could've been avoided. The war, the printing, all of it. Humans had a system of DIRECT DEMOCRACY in Athens in the 5th century, and it WORKED. It completely cut out corrupt representatives, and lobbyists. Citizens gathered in the Assembly and voted directly on everything that mattered to them. Most government positions were filled by random selection, not election, because they understood that the moment you create career politicians you create a class of people who can be bought. What did that system produce? Only the most prolific intellectual and cultural explosion in human history. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle. The Parthenon. The foundations of Western philosophy, drama, mathematics, and science. All from a few thousand citizens deciding their own future without a donor class skimming off the top. It died because empire and corruption killed it, not because the model failed. The only real argument against direct democracy in the modern day was logistics. You couldn't reasonably and verifiably get everybody to vote for individual issues. That argument is dead. The tech is sitting right in front of our eyes. Blockchain voting would mean we can vote on every bill, every war, every spending package in real time, no middlemen, no lobbyists, no representatives bought and paid for by the military industrial complex before they even take their seat. Blockchain voting, cryptographic verification, decentralised identity make it so that voting can now scale to millions in real time, voting on every bill, every war, every spending package, with mathematical verification that makes rigging impossible. Why are we still pretending the current system isn't a scam? Because the people skimming off the top LOSE EVERYTHING the moment we cut them out. Representative democracy isn't preserved because it works. It's preserved because it's profitable, and keeps you under control.

THIS IS INTERESTING Pro Bitcoin Kevin Warsh may become the next Fed Chair by May 2026. Here’s what happened to $BTC around past Fed leadership changes: - Jan 2014: Yellen took over. Bitcoin dropped -82.77%. - Feb 2018: Powell became Chair. Bitcoin dropped -73.89%. - May 2022: Powell’s second term. Bitcoin dropped -61.06%. Are we getting a Bitcoin pump this time instead of a crash?

THE PENTAGON JUST ADMITTED DEFEAT The Pentagon is admitting that US bases in the Persian Gulf got absolutely hammered. BILLIONS to repair, with dozens of aircraft, command headquarters, aircraft hangars, satellite communications infrastructure, runways, high-end radar systems destroyed. And of course, YOU will be paying for it. Global military spending just hit $2.9 TRILLION (highest ever recorded). Germany up 24% in a single year, blowing past the NATO 2% threshold for the first time since 1990. Europe up 14%. Asia up 8%. Every major economy is shovelling more money into weapons while their citizens can't even afford rent. This is completely intentional. The military industrial complex does not lose wars. IT WINS BUDGETS. Every "defeat" justifies the next contract, and every destroyed jet becomes an order for three new ones. Every "we need to rebuild deterrence" is a multi-billion dollar transfer from your pocket to Lockheed, Raytheon, BAE, Rheinmetall, and the rest of the parasites. Same script as Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam. The only people who never pay are the ones who started the wars in the first place. If you still trust the people telling you these wars are about freedom or security or "the rules-based order" then I really don't know what to tell you.

My insurance company said they won't insurance me anymore because of my terrible driving history. I told them "past performance is not indicative of future performance". They laughed and said "history may not repeat exactly, but our 100+ years of data on human behaviour says it'll rhyme". Anyone got any recommendations for car insurers that don't look at historical performance?

Five European armies -French, Belgian, Italian, Greek, and Spanish practice crossing rivers in France. Men clumped together, no anti drone canopies, grilles, or nets anywhere. These men, and their armour would be literally wiped out in minutes on the modern Battlefield

This is unusual... Risk assets and oil are rising together today with - S&P 500: +0.35% Bitcoin: +2.1% Brent Oil: +3.6% US Oil: +4.3% Risk assets are optimistic due to the extended ceasefire, but it appears that oil markets are continuing to price in supply shocks.

American is a healthy 28 year old, he decided to skip paying for health insurance this year because the cheapest plan was $900 per month with a high deductible He had to spend 2 nights in the ER without insurance, he breaks down the bill “This is my receipt from spending 2 days in the hospital: - It totaled about $24,000 - My CT scan alone was $8,300 - Laboratory, 6,000 - IV therapy, $1,020, $4,000 in total And while $24,000 seems like a lot of money, let me show you something. This is what I'm actually paying, $2,478 because when you don't have insurance, these hospitals give you a discount. They discounted $22,000 off of this bill” “But if I had insurance, I wouldn't have gotten that discount. So it would've been a $24,000 bill billed to my insurance, and then my insurance would've said, ‘Hey, you have a $5,000 deductible. You need to pay $5,000 for this last emergency room visit.’ Then you tack on the $900 a month that I'd be paying for that insurance. I'd be paying $20K this year for healthcare. So the craziest part about this is even if I have another hospital visit, by the end of this year, I'm still gonna be paying less than I would if I had insurance. At minimum, my cost for healthcare this year would've been $20,000 with insurance. Right now I'm at $2,400.” US Health Insurance is a scam

MicroStrategy Discovers the Infinite Money Glitch (Again) The new $42 billion masterplan: 1. Issue $21 billion in perpetual preferred stock, legally committing to pay a $2.4 BILLION annual dividend. 2. Use the cash to buy Bitcoin. A pristine asset, but one that generates absolutely no native yield. 3. Acknowledge that the underlying software business generates nowhere near enough cash to cover these massive new dividend obligations. 4. Pay the old investors their yield using fresh capital raised by selling more stock to new investors. Funding existing backers entirely with money from new backers. Charles Ponzi would shed a tear of pure pride at the mechanics of it.
