If you’re not already following the development of serenityos and you’re interested in programming, system development, or are generally curious how your operating system works behind the scenes, I strongly encourage you to give it a watch. 🐞#programming #serenityos

🔴 OS hacking: Let's make a simple hexdump utility youtu.be/YNSAZIW3EM0 Today I decided to do a video inside SerenityOS instead of using my Linux system for development(!) Watch as I discover various little issues and eventually build a simple hexdump program! 🤓🐞🛠

@davecheney @NanoRaptor The old "wrap halfway around the pelvis" move is still mandatory though, unfortunately :(
English

@NanoRaptor I'm now 1cm shorter - I don't notice this specifically, but I do notice most everyone else has changed. Further analysis concludes I am hitting my head on my doorway slightly less often.

@Anmoldeep1509 I have no idea what you're talking about. You've either mistaken me for someone else, or I built something in the past and completely forgot about it. Both these things are possible.

@deoxxa Loved your Complementr.com API, it has awesome compliments and really simple to use API!
Just wanted to say that feels like the Database of Compliments, is really good, but needs more compliments, it repeats the compliments quicker, can we do something about this?

@EvieSigma @StarlightNixie @goonsquat @Foone Ever since I found out Apple used to use transparent plastic for prototypes (which is almost definitely what they used in Hackers) I’ve always wanted one. One of my long term dreams is to cast a transparent case for a thinkpad or something.

@schemeprincess @andrewdotnich @JeremyMorrell I propose this become the alternate history origin story of the paxos algorithm
English

@JeremyMorrell This is why an AI apocalypse will never happen. If computers become too smart, we just put them on a committee and they’ll never be able to do anything.

@darrenpauli @dnoiz1 @snare It was genuinely awful though. It sent every URL you'd visit to a central service to check how many downvotes it had. Absolute privacy nightmare.

@the_semicolon_ @awesomekling I was pleasantly surprised too! As far as I can tell it's a bit of a hobby protocol, but the vibe seems to fit with Serenity. I'm thinking I'll set up my personal website content to be served via Gemini, then there'll be one more site!
English

I implemented very basic Gemini (gemini.circumlunar.space) support in Serenity's browser!
