I am not a tribalistic person but there’s something I observed about the Yoruba people when I first came to Lagos that fascinates me. I think it’s a cultural thing but it leaves me mesmerized every single time. I have never been able to get used to it, maybe because I grew up among the Igbo, Idoma and a few other tribes in Nigeria. Guys, the Yorubas will thank you a thousand times for one small good thing you do for them. I’m not kidding you. If you take your phone now and send N20K to 5 persons each from different parts of Nigeria, I can bet you that after they must have all gotten the money and thanked you for it tonight, the Yoruba person will wake up tomorrow morning and send you a message or call you to thank you for it again. If by any chance you guys meet tomorrow, they will still thank you all over again. Now here’s the shocking part, if you happen to meet the person’s father or mother tomorrow, next tomorrow or the next week, he or she will still thank you for that money you sent their son or daughter. I am telling you they must have heard of it before then. I don’t know how they do it but gratitude and appreciation for little lives among the Yoruba people. Jeez, these guys will make you always want to do more for them. Do one thing for them and they’ll feel indebted to you for the rest of their lives. It’s how Tinubu has been able to accumulate several loyalists across the Southwestern part of the country – it is all of gratitude, they all feel indebted to him for one position of power or the other that he has installed them. If he were to be from other tribes, his colonies would have betrayed him and hanged all of his dirty linens outside long long ago. I wish that we can all learn to appreciate little gestures of kindness like this. It doesn’t only open up doors for us to get more from our benefactors, it also helps to appreciate our own little winnings and not let external influences make us feel like we’re not doing enough. ~ PGO.

I’m just going to wait for the post-primary elections to see how Atikulated, Obidient, Amaechified, and Kwankwaso followers will mend fences and work together. I’ve never seen a coalition where every stalwart wants to be the candidate, with no one willing to step down for another and the followers of each aspirant have already promised to be on each other’s throats if their candidate fails to emerge. A coalition where they laugh and strategize against the incumbent government together, but go home to plot against each other at night. Let’s not lie, ADC is a time bomb waiting to explode before the election, and it will be my delight to see them in disarray. #deprofwrites #alarapewrites

Now let me educate you, APC was not a new party or a new coalition in 2023, it was not an opposition party, even with that, almost every one who lost in that Primary Election were sore loosers and they never worked for the Party which is why they kept plotting against Asiwaju by all means until he had a narrow escape. So don't compare APC with ADC bro

"You are not doing Peter Obi a favour by voting for him." - Elite Gaslight 😆 The exact reason we won't be voting for him. He doesn't know the value of our votes. The vote of every Nigerian is a favour. Full stop. We are the employers. The politician is the applicant. And any man who approaches the gate of power believing he is granting you a privilege by asking for your ballot has already disqualified himself by his own character. An employee who does not recognise the weight of the trust his employers placed in him by hiring him will never honour that trust at work. He came in with contempt, and contempt is what he will deliver. This is not theory. We have the evidence of eight years. Peter Obi governed Anambra for two full terms and left behind a state that attracted beer parlours while his contemporaries were signing agreements with bank headquarters and mega factories. Not because the resources were absent. Not because the opportunities did not knock. But because a man who does not value the votes of his people will not labour to deserve them - and a man who will not labour to deserve them will not labour to serve them. We are voting again - not out of sentiment, not out of tribe, not out of noise - but because our man has earned it. Because he has delivered on the promises he made at the gate. Because every day in office, he has behaved like a man who understands that the people hired him, and that they can fire him, and that the distance between those two things is called performance. That is what it means to value a vote. Understood? Good Afternoon Severally...

The worst of them all is the one who constantly claims moral superiority, criticising everyone yet, forms alliances with the same people whenever it suits his ambition. That person is Peter Obi. This is someone who, as Governor of Anambra, reportedly shut down Nasir El-Rufai’s political activities, yet today cries persecution when El-Rufai faces corruption allegations under the current government. In 2019, Atiku Abubakar was his “elder brother” when he gladly accepted the Vice Presidential ticket. By 2023, that same Atiku had suddenly become the face of a “corrupt structure” he claimed he could not be part of. He once said with his full chest that he would rather quit politics than leave APGA. Yet over time, he has moved from APGA to PDP, then to LP, and now aligns with ADC. So what exactly is the principle here? The pattern is clear: no fixed ideology, no consistent alignment, just a readiness to use any available political vehicle (SPV) to pursue personal ambition. Meanwhile, the Obidient movement continues to project him as a messiah with a spotless record. But politics is not built on perception alone. No matter the desperation or the aggressive marketing, his presidential ambition increasingly looks like a pursuit that may remain a dream that will never see the light of day. #deprofwrites #alarapewrites

"...don't group @PeterObi with despots like @atiku" yet he's in a coalition with him
Lekan Olayinka@lekan_olayinka1

It’s fine for you to say you don’t support Peter Obi anymore. Just don’t group him with despots like BAT and Atiku just to make it easy for you to dismiss him. It is also fine to denounce him because the 2023 buzz has waned. Just don’t let that fact skew your scrutiny of his competence. Now let me say this: Peter Obi remains the best option for us as far as today is concerned. And I will give you two solid reasons now. The problem of our nation, the carnage and corruption, is not due to the fact that we lack skilled leadership. It is a CHARACTER PROBLEM. We have leaders who mostly know the best thing to do but won’t because they are corrupt and greedy. Secondly, we have leaders who are mentally poor because they’ve never seen true wealth and power before, so they do all they can to hoard it because without it they have no meaning in life. This is why Tinubu is desperate for Western validation and needs a bloated fleet of convoy to project power and class. They are empty. But Peter is immune to this character problem. And I want you all to wake up. The easiest thing to do is type on Twitter to project some contrarian virtue signaling. Wake up. Till date, as vicious as APC is, they have not found ONE thing to use against Peter Obi. EFCC has not been able to invite him for questioning. Not once. That is an impossible rarity in a Nigerian politician. And that is what we are denouncing because there are some technical inconsistencies in his tweets about tax? Secondly, you complain about him aligning with bad politicians. I want you to wake up and look up, please. You’re going against Tinubu, the most corrupt and wicked politician in modern Nigeria. This man has bought 31 governors. This man looked at people who were just massacred and told them he only has 10 minutes for them. This is a man whose officials are defending INEC. As it is, Tinubu acts as though no constitution exists. You want to fight a pack of wolves as a lamb and you think good intentions will make a group of lambs defeat a pack of ravenous wolves? No. And yes, politics is messy because it is a game of power and you need powerful people to help you win. Remember, he won in 2023, and he was rigged out by powerful people. I want you to please wake up. Let Peter become President. Let’s start from there. Put a man of integrity and strong will there, first. Then we worry about the others later. But if you’re going to denounce him, bring stronger reasons. PS: expect typos in this tweet I am rushing and no time to proofread.

Amaechi surprises me every time he tries to talk about the Tinubu government. He's too pedestrian for someone who has been an Assembly Speaker, a two-term Governor, and a two-term Super Minister. The last time he spoke with Spare Parts Merchants, it was him making bogus claims about tax policy implementation just to instill fears in them. He has made several other claims that I would have believed came from the intoxication of alcohol in beer parlours, if there were no video evidence of him saying them himself. Now, it is the claim that Tinubu will move the capital to Lagos. The same narrative that was used against him before the 2023 polls and in the early days of his administration that the almighty Amaechi is spreading today. One would expect someone like Rotimi Amaechi to be constructive in his criticism, but he has chosen the easier route because the part of his intelligence meant for studying policy and situations, and producing sound criticism, has been beclouded by hatred. Well, it’s all part of the hustle to become Vice President, because Amaechi himself will argue with you if you tell him he will become the candidate of ADC. So, the competition of who lies better between him and Peter Obi for that slot is clearly on. #deprofwrites #alarapewrites

Not the little B💕@BlehisBack

Wait… all these tears because of Peter Obi? 😂 Now let me give you something real to cry about. I don’t believe Peter Obi (ADC) can govern this country and deliver the kind of transformation we actually want. Beyond the alliances with the same recycled wicked political class, I still have his post notifications on from my 2023 fangirl phase and I’ve taken time to read his positions on core economic issues. It’s disappointing 💔💔. Look at his comments on Sani Abacha, the tax bill, and several key policy matters, some of which were quietly deleted. You read them and just think, “nah… this is underwhelming.” 💔 Then there’s the part where we all pretend not to notice his wingmen; Dino Melaye, Nasir El-Rufai, even Atiku Abubakar all orbiting the same movement. Or are we to believe they’ve suddenly become saints cause they now associate with him? At some point, we have to admit we are just repackaging the same old corrupt system that brought us into this mess we are, with a cleaner brand name. And please, we’re past the optics of eating with school children, carrying bags at the airport… that humility theatre. It’s governance we need, not aesthetics. Yes, Bola Tinubu must go. No debate there.❌ Quite frankly, he should never even have happened in the first place‼️ But I wish we didn’t have to repeat the anybody but Jonathan(PDP) situation that made us fall into Buhari’s (APC) laps. I wish we had a real opposition; one rooted in competence, conviction, and the courage to stand against entrenched corruption, not coexist with it. Maybe the 2023 version of Peter Obi felt like that person. But 2027? I’m not convinced. Having doubts about the opposition doesn’t equate being an APC supporter‼️ But if you insist that this stance puts corn in my pocket, then I’ll gladly eat it with beans 🌽😌 Now cry moreeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

It is clear that the African Democratic Congress and their allies are trying so hard to run a double agenda, where the outcome of the first will make the second easier to execute. They are trying to paint the INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, in a bad light so that if Bola Ahmed Tinubu refuses to bend to their whims and caprices, they can conveniently claim that any loss at the polls was due to his alleged bias and loyalty to the APC. Nigerians, however, should not forget that this same card has been played before. Similar allegations were raised against Mahmood Yakubu, and even while in government, Attahiru Jega was accused of colluding with the APC to undermine the very administration that appointed him. It is a familiar victim narrative. On the other hand, if the President yields and sacks Joash Amupitan, then their litmus test would have produced a satisfactory result, opening the door for further pressure and coordinated propaganda aimed at destabilizing the government. But Asiwaju, being the astute politician that he is, is unlikely to fall for such tactics. They would be better off returning to the drawing board to build the kind of structure required to actually win an election. #deprofwrites #alarapewrites
