Ethiopia is not a prisoner of history, rather it is a great nation striving on a path of rapid development forgiving those who did wrong to it, honouring those who loved it, and seeking to share her bounty not only with her own people but with the entire region! Not a single day passes without confirming the greatness of my country and my people. The hope I see in the eyes of my fellow citizens in the places I visit and the opportunities I encounter is the constant strength behind my dedication. Let us all strive together in our respective fields! The time Ethiopia will be even greater than it has ever been is not far off!

በድሬዳዋ የነበረኝ ቆይታ ቅኝት

Today is the day the sun broke through a sky that had been dark for all of Africa and Black people! It is the day Ethiopia triumphed over invading forces who had encroached upon her borders and violated her sovereignty and her people's freedom on the mountains of Adwa. It is the day Ethiopia preserved civilization, which had remained unviolated for three thousand years. Our fore fathers and fore mothers deserve our utmost respect who through the sacrifice of their blood handed down to us an Ethiopia in which we live with pride, alongside a marvellous civilization, history, and great honour. We, the Ethiopians of today, must sustain the country our ancestors died to build by living in unity and love. Learning from them, we must say ‘No’ to poverty, division, and backward thinking, and transition Ethiopia toward prosperity. The time when Ethiopia becomes even greater than it has ever been, is not far off!

I express my sincere gratitude to President @azpresident for the warm and gracious welcome extended to me on my maiden official visit to Azerbaijan. Over the past few years, our partnership has steadily expanded, underpinned by recent economic cooperation in the aviation sector, collaboration in industrial parks and free trade zones, and joint engagements between Ethiopian Investment Holdings and its Azerbaijani counterpart. These initiatives have laid a strong foundation for the continued strengthening of our bilateral relations, which, through today’s in-depth discussions, we have agreed to further consolidate and elevate. Today, we also presided over the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Defense and the exchange of several memoranda of understanding (MOUs).

The 130th Anniversary of the Battle of Adwa stands as a proud symbol of resistance and empowerment. It marks a defining moment in history where Ethiopia's victory against colonial powers became a beacon of freedom and pride for people of African descent worldwide!!

Wrapping up the 39th AU Summit with fruitful discussions on continental unity, climate action, and economic development. Africa is taking bold steps towards a brighter, more sustainable future.

Ethiopia's Air Force 90th Anniversary serves as a prime example of the enduring continuity of institutions in the nation's nation-building process.

Aviation Expo 2026

Today, I attended the opening of the Aviation Expo 2026 as part of the celebrations marking 90 years of the Ethiopian Air Force. Under the theme “Flying Forward, Building a Shared Future,” the Expo brings together national and international partners to advance aviation technology, skills, and cooperation, and to strengthen Ethiopia’s role as a growing aviation and aerospace hub in Africa.
