A lesson from history taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2024/03/0… Any government possessed of its own central bank and a currency that is acceptable for both domestic and international trade and that is backed up by a sound taxation system is capable of funding anything that the people of its jurisdiction are capable of doing.
English

@RichardJMurphy You're right. For infrastructure to have been built in the first place it needed finance and that had to come from government printing money.

18 February 1943 | A Polish woman Katarzyna Kwoka (no. 26946) perished in Auschwitz. She was born on 1 April 1896 in Wólka Zwojecka in Zamość County. Arrived at #Auschwitz on 13 December 1942 in a transport of 318 women. Among them was also her daughter, Czesława.
Czesława Kwoka was murdered in #Auschwitz with a phenol injection into the heart on 12 March 1943, almost a month after her mother's death.
In total during the so-called "Aktion Zamość", ethnic cleansing of the Zamość region, between November 1942 & March 1943, the Germans expelled some 110 thousand Poles from 297 villages of the region.

@SteveBarclay @RishiSunak @GBNEWS Is that the 'square one' where national debt as a %age of GDP was significantly lower?

Compelling to see @RishiSunak take questions head on from voters on the economy, NHS and immigration on tonight’s People’s Forum on @GBNEWS.
PM is spelling out clearly how sticking to our plan will deliver the change 🇬🇧 needs. Labour 🥀 would take us back to square one.

🚨@RishiSunak: Illegal migration is fundamentally unfair. That’s why one of my top priorities is to stop the boats. And our plan is working. Here’s how 👇 #GBNPeoplesForum

Michael Gove says the reason they’ve not built more social housing is because when they tried to pass an act enabling this Labour blocked it. Even if this is factual, of which I’m doubtful, I thought the Tories had a 57 MP majority so how can this be an excuse? #BBCLauraK

I'll be 54 this year and I don't give a flying boll0ck about it and I'll tell yous why: I lost my brother when he was 43, so I view aging as a privilege denied to many. We live every everything day, we die just once. Try to enjoy your life & care for yourself as best you can🫡
