@deez20818243 @MistedTwister @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 Good points. I'll add that nuclear has a 5 to 10 year lag to get built and produce output. Solar is faster.
In those 10 years, solar, wind, batteries, fusion, and many other renewable technologies will only get better.
English

@MistedTwister @derekkerton @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 1. Nuclear is extremely expensive on the front end investment and has very high regulation so it’s hard to get them funded and cleared
2. Electricity output is higher per dollar per day with solar vs nuclear by 2-3x
Both have strengths & weaknesses. We can do both.
English

@MistedTwister @deez20818243 @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 Sure, let's build it. Although it's not more energy output than the Sun, it does produce at night.
Meanwhile, the Sun is there providing energy, whether we "require" it or not. We don't have to build it.
Seems like a free lunch.
English

@deez20818243 @derekkerton @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 So why not build more nuclear? The power output is far greater and doesn’t require the sun.
English

@sandibachom Trump sends his private army, impetuously and without a clear plan, and this is most of what they do:
stand around doing nuthin.
Unless some douche like Noem or Bovino tells them to knock heads. Then they do that.
Those are the two modes.

@MistedTwister @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 I owe her a like, but I also feel like a winner!
English

@derekkerton @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 I’m wrong because I missed the part about them solely being mirrors. Yes nothing when it comes to energy is 100% non-toxic.
@gator_gum you win the bet.
English

@derekkerton @jonfavs Look, an illegal alien was caught at the airport even though she wasn’t living inside it. Surprise, surprise!
cnn.com/2025/12/01/us/…
English

Ah yes, people usually enter the country illegally by just booking a plane ticket
Aaron Rupar@atrupar
Q: Will we see ICE arresting illegal migrants at airports? TRUMP: Yeah. That's why the Democrats are going crazy. ICE loves it because they're able to now arrest illegals as they come into the country. It's very fertile territory.
English

@MistedTwister @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 Stop moving goalposts.
1. you were wrong about mirrors
2. You said "Toxic" - they are not
3. Now you want 100% safe.
Nothing is 100% safe - Except my bet with @gator_gum that you never admit being wrong, even if painfully obvious.
English

@derekkerton @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 So they are 100% safe and will never create toxins that could get into the air we breathe…not even corrosive
English

@samstein I can't tell if you mean that:
- because he's the finance guy
- because he's so bad at it.
So, i'll go with "Both".
English

@HadleySheley @atrupar Not even. Cuz he's lying here.
Something as good as the JCPOA is a distant dream.
English

@atrupar Oh. So the same thing, Obama got Iran to agree to without bombing, getting American troops killed, or putting the oil and gas market in complete disarray.
English

@atrupar The buck stops...
...with Pete Hegseth, apparently.
Trump, never one to take ANY responsibility for the disasters in his wake.
English

@MistedTwister @LoyalD_14613 @gator_gum @volcaholic1 A: those are mirrors
B: No, photovoltaic panels are not toxic.
There IS a small amount of solder to make the connections & a trace amount of lead in the solder.
So, I assume you use no electronic product that uses solder. Are you Amish?

English

@MistedTwister @gator_gum @volcaholic1 Those are mirrors, you numbnuts.
Go look at yourself in one, and you will see something toxic. I guess you're kinda right.
English

@JustFonz_ @JustAnotherM44 @volcaholic1 Exactly. One model allows them to sell power at the same time it competes with photovoltaic producers, & spot energy prices are cheap.
The molten salt model allows them to sell power in the afternoon and after the sun sets, when energy prices are high.
Very different economics.
English

@JustAnotherM44 @volcaholic1 Similar, but still different especially with China's ability to store the electricity.

@MistedTwister @gator_gum @volcaholic1 This guy ⬆️ is extremely creative when it comes to guessing solved problems with renewable energy.
Maybe not so good at guessing problems caused by fossil fuel energy. Maybe those are just too obvious for such a sharp mind.
English

@gator_gum @volcaholic1 Hopefully that solar farm doesn’t get hit by a large hail storm
English

@MistedTwister @volcaholic1 Toxic? Mirrors and salt?
Then water and steam to power a turbine?
English

@volcaholic1 FWIW, this kind of solar was tried in the USA, but fell out of favor as panels became cheap & efficient.
However, it's coming BACK into favor, because the hot salt can store heat, & produce steam AFTER sunset. A built-in "battery".
