It was a felony because of the evidence that he conspired to influence the election by hiding his infidelity with the illegal payments. Under the law, they only need to prove conspiracy. @jk_maloy The payment that you are referring to wasn’t hush money to keep it private. It was a public settlement from an ongoing case. I’m not going to defend Bill Clinton who also was not a great dude. The difference is Trump made the payments secretly through third parties to shut her up
