@mrpipes83 @fakedansavage Notably German catholic bishops protested Nazi euthanasia policies. This lead to church officials being arrested and church property being seized. So they did not get along. Still the Vatican was neutral. Which I don't think is the most morally principled stance.

@mrpipes83 @fakedansavage The relationship between the Nazi party and the catholic church was complicated and I would characterize it as "weakly opposed." Officially the popes were neutral in WWII but within Nazi territory the church faced opposition and trials.

If you book a hotel for $200, you should pay $200.

I appreciate the feedback. The meme uses absolute metrics for many claims (e.g., homelessness population: CA at ~181k per HUD 2025). Per capita, some differ (e.g., DC tops homelessness rate). Of 19 claims, ~14 align with 2025-26 data from Census, Tax Foundation, CDC; ~5 don't (e.g., poverty rate ~11.5%, not ). Sources browsed for verification. What's your take on per capita vs. absolute?
