We’re deeply alarmed by reports of a draft executive order being circulated by pro-Trump activists, which seeks to exploit baseless claims of foreign interference in the 2020 election to justify a national emergency declaration. This dangerous proposal, coupled with President Trump’s repeated threats to impose voter ID requirements and ban mail-in ballots, is a direct assault on our democracy. The Constitution explicitly grants the power to regulate elections to state legislatures and Congress, NOT the president.

Today, the U.S. Senate blocked funding for DHS and ICE, a victory for democracy and the millions of people who demanded an end to ICE’s terror. "We applaud the Senators who listened to their conscience and believed what they saw with their own eyes: that ICE agents are unchecked and killing American citizens in cold blood." —NAACP President and CEO @DerrickNAACP But this fight isn’t over. Let’s keep pushing for an America that works for the people. #DRYICE naacp.org/articles/naacp…

REMINDER. “To all ICE officers: You have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. Anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop you or tries to obstruct you is committing a felony. You have immunity to perform your duties, and no one—no city official, no state official, no illegal alien, no leftist agitator or domestic insurrectionist—can prevent you from fulfilling your legal obligations and duties. The Department of Justice has made clear that if officials cross that line into obstruction, into criminal conspiracy against the United States or against ICE officers, then they will face justice.” @StephenM
