We've been working on a whole new way to get things done: Copilot Tasks. AI that talks less and does more, no complicated setup or coding skills required. Just ask for what you need and Copilot will take it from there, like: - Turn a syllabus into a complete study plan, with practice tests created and focus time blocked before each exam - Track new apartment rental listings nearby every Friday and book showings - Every evening, surface urgent emails with draft replies ready to send, and automatically unsubscribe from promotional mails I never open We’ve opened it up as a Research Preview to a small group of testers, and you can join the wait list for access here: copilot.microsoft.com/tasks/preview?…

While on @Airbnb's design team, I introduced the idea of using 3D characters from the Airbnb brand to represent guest capacity. The idea simply came out of my desire to add visual interest and a bit of humor to an otherwise utilitarian tool.

If you have spent enough time designing products, you will arrive at a stage of rapid mental iterations - most of your visual style choices can appear infront of your eyes before even jumping into any tool. While you might be iterating on a screen/flow in the Figma canvas - hundreds of iterations also happen at the same time infront of your eyes. It feels magical, cannot be explained. Humans are amazing.
Ben South@bnj

Great designers look like creative geniuses, but they're actually just brute forcing hundreds of mental simulations faster than others can build and test one solution

Here’s how we made Board. A massive team effort of creativity and grit to create a brand new game console, interaction tech, OS, brand, packaging, ecomm, 12 new game titles – and ship it to customers in under 24 months. The Board team did it and they are just getting started.

I happened to file an expense report, hated my life and technology for it. Good to see @tryramp and @diegozaks innovating in this space!

New story release on App Stacks: Meet Clocks by @daniel__designs Clocks is a stunning app that transforms your phone into a fun & beautiful standby display. Drawing on his experience with shaders, Daniel decided to bring some of those visuals into iOS. 🧵

Alright so Apple Magic Mouse is quite shit. What's a better alternative designers are using these days? I don't mind going full trackpad either. So it's got to do better than that.

We're losing color. In our pursuit for endless scale and to appeal to everyone, we learn to simplify, to dumb down, to neutralize toward the least offensive. As a result, our world is measurably less colorful today. It may be a winning strategy for business but it's a losing one for culture. Let's bring color back.
