@DesignGuru01 The title on page 3 says “CAIVX”, just in case you can still adjust your assets for the client 😁 Otherwise love the dithering and colors.

Imagine thinking you might owe on taxes just to find out you accidentally gave the IRS $325,000 extra. I almost fell out of my chair.

Still thinking about how @ridd_design can’t NOT listen to instrumental music from the moment he wakes up It was by far his hardest challenge to have to turn it off during filming But now I have music on at the crib (in every room) and it’s a game changer

Designjoy crossed $5,000,000 in revenue today. 🥲 Forgive me for breaking character for a moment. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t proud of myself. Just a quite kid from a town of 400 people in the middle of nowhere Missouri. Most of my classmates never made it out. So many were pulled under by drugs, alcohol and suicide. Yet somehow, here I am. Building something I never thought was possible...until I did it. And honestly, it still doesn’t make sense. I don’t have the degree. I don’t have the connections. I didn’t have some genius plan. I wake up most morning wondering, why me? I’ve only ever been slightly above average. But I had one thing that never let go of me: obsession. Obsession with finding a better way. Obsession with proving everyone wrong. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: obsession can carry you further than talent, luck, or circumstance ever will. It’s the one edge you can control. So if there’s anyone out there who's convinced they’re nothing special too, know this: you don’t have to be extraordinary. You just have to care enough to keep going long after everyone else has stopped.

@DannPetty Stoked!! Had no idea and have been yearning for something like this, outside of YouTube tutorials that just focus on the technical side and not the taste side. Thanks!

I have a feeling this is going to be a really good podcast. Design has needed something like this for awhile.

@ItsMaclouis Eye catching colors! How do you determine the color of the actual noise for each gradient? Is that done by eye or is there a formula?

Just bought this. $129 for all these tools. Bolt. Notion. Framer. Perplexity. Mobbin, etc. Over $1,000 in software I already use. Legit surprised it isn’t sold out yet.

@designertom It sounds incredibly silly, but RuneScape was the thing that really taught me about the power (and necessity) of reps. When you play a game where you need to slay a boss not once, but on average 1,000 times to get the item you want, it fixes your focus onto reps above all else.

At some point in my design career, I started coasting away from "get in the reps". After 14 years, I got comfy. But this insane production schedule I'm on has definitely revived that "get in the reps" spirit. I think you're going to see a noticable shift in quality from what we produced 4 weeks ago to what we produce this week. At the very least, our culture of play is going to be apparent.

@BrettFromDJ Just went through your Productize Yourself course for the second time. I feel like it has a lot of the answers to questions people are asking on the stream. Worth the buy. productizeyourself.co

Here are 4 Symmetrical Color Ramps derived from the #MindfulPalettes color palette. They are built using an #OKLCH color ramp tool I'm working on, and meant to hit very specific #APCA-based contrast targets. Expand the post for details on how the ramps work. 👇 The contrast value is listed in the top left corner of each color block. A negative value represents the contrast between a light color and a dark background (black in our case) and fits dark mode. A positive value represents the contrast between a dark color and a light background (white in our case). Each #ColorRamp is split down the middle between L (light tones) and D (dark tones), and each sides hits similar contrast values as it progresses, which means the ramps can be mirrored between light and dark modes. This tool will likely become a #Figma plugin in the short to medium future. Enjoy the ramps and share them with your friends!

Overwhelmed, but having fun. I'm spending about $8k additional per month right now (in the red). Feels sketchy sometimes. Then I look at my calendar for this week and feel inspired that I get to talk to people like @eschadiol, @jenny_wen, and Devin Mathews (SuprOrdinary). Creating a catalog of stories and lessons one video at a time. Side note: Starting on Fridays, each podcast episode's 60-minute interview will be released as a separate video for those who want to hear the unedited yapping.
