Just went live with a new, more considered interface for Rivet. Rivet gets out of the way when you aren't using it, but keeps the right tool a click away. Here's a demo of how it works on the landing page.

what if you could leave design feedback for an agent, and then refine the last 10% yourself to make it exceptional? @designrivet just combined comments with a visual editor so you can make precise design changes faster

Big milestone: @designrivet is now in open beta! The design community has been in a fierce debate over how designers should think about code. The idea behind Rivet is simple: give designers a dedicated tool to edit their live product. Designers don’t want to be engineers. They want to design! Today, you can select anything in your actual application, refine the styles to be pixel perfect, and then publish those changes as production code. My goal is that Rivet becomes the bridge for anyone who designs to own every detail of their real application. I'm going to share a new product update every day until Christmas. Have a riveting holiday season! rivet.design

And @designrivet is for product designers and those that aspire to design. I don’t care about turning designers into coders. But I do care about blasting through every blocker that prevents a designer today from exercising their taste to shape the software they work on. Everyone can design, but designers need a tool that's built for the messy, imperfect iteration cycles that define the process to get somewhere great. Designers don't think like engineers. Designers look for ambiguity when engineers seek structure. Designers bypass rules when the real world imposes them. And designers have vision. For what is design if not the expression of a vision brought forcefully into the world? The Eames said that design is "The sum of all constraints.” Code is the ultimate constraint for most product designers, so owning this form factor is inevitable. Designers need a way to access and shape the final medium when they’re ready to. But the tool that solves this problem is different from a tool that's targeted at professional software engineers. Rivet will make it seamless to go from design vision to reality in your actual product.

Cursor is for software engineers and those who aspire to be one. If we build a tool for professionals, and get it right, we can make building software accessible to more and more people. You don't build the product for non-developers. You help designers and everyone else code.

Rivet’s giving designers the tools to visually make detailed changes to their live product, directly in production code, without needing an engineer. It’s a problem @gormankind has been obsessed with, all the way back to creating his own CS + design custom major at Stanford.
